well, I have configured the kdc client on the file server, joined the domain using net ads join and it worked fine, again getnet group , getnet passwd , wbinfo -u they all works perfectlly fine I am also able to browse the shares from any windows machine joined to the CCDC domain, but I am still not able to do ANY mount.cifs, not even form linux boxes joined to the domain :-/ I have no idea what's happening. ...art seems to work. I can connect a Windows 7 Client to the domain and work with MS rsat tools on the SAMBA server. After that I installed SSSD with apt-get install sssd sssd-tools and configured this package as found on https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Local_user_management_and_authentication/sssd getnet passwd and getent group do what they should (after adding posix stuff to groups and users with RSAT) I did not change anything with any pam configuration as i think that dpk should do the job when libpam-sss and libnss-sss were installed. I have an issue that "getent passwd SAMDOM\usrname" returns a blank response. Running "getent passwd" returns all the local users. I cannot determine if the libnss-winbind symbolic links exist. This is a member server running Debian 10 with Samba v4.12.5 via Louis' repos. The Sambawiki /Libnss winbind Links/ page shows Debian x86_64 source location as
