Problem with ACL and Samba
Dear All I am facing a strange problem that I could not solve, so, maybe you can help me. Look at this situation: I created a new directory with those ACLs (through Samba using Windows XP) [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl teste #file:teste #owner:1002 #group:1006 user::rwx group::rwx group:suporte:rwx group:administ:rwx mask::rwx other::--- [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl -d teste #file:teste #owner:1002 #group:1006 user::rwx group::rwx group:suporte:rwx group:administ:rwx mask::rwx other::--- My ACLs are rig...

ls and getfacl hanging with nt authentication
I have Samba 3.0.2a running on Solaris 8 compiled with winbind and authenticating against an NT domain. every time I run a "ls -l" or "getfacl" the command line hangs as it's tries to pull down all the user/group details from the domain. I heard this may have something to do with nscd (nameservice cache daemon?) which is running on the solaris machine. Any thoughts appreciated! Steve

Cannot see trusted domains (getfacl or setfacl)

The problem is that when I try to apply acl permissions on some folder (using setfacl) I cannot see the trusted domains, If I comment out the entries in my resolv.conf of the external dns servers, it works fine, the same for getfacl, I need to comment out the external dns in order to view the permissions. I only see the uid numbers (group:10007:rwx instead of group:domain\group:rwx) I have configured my samba server to first lookup my lmhosts and in the lmhosts I have the netbios name for all trusted domains, but It seems, sa...

ACL Support and Samba
I've been playing with filesystem ACLs and wanted to integrate that with Samba to create a more transparent end user experiance. I have set up and tested a JFS partition with ACL support. I can use getfacl and setfacl with no problems to set permissions as needed. It works great. I compiled Samba with ACL support using the --with-acl configure option. Unfortunately I can't seem to get Samba/Windows to list the full set of permissions that show up with a getfacl. Trying to add two users wit...
