Migrating samba domain to new computer.
...smbldap.
It mostly works.
Existing members of the domain are working OK.
The first thing that got my attention is was not able to join a new xp
workstation to the domain.
Also noticed that the server is not a member of the domain.

necessary to join pdc to domain?
is it necessary for me to join the PDC itself to the domain??
i ask this because the below command is not working for me:

pdbedit will only add users to the local machine domain, not the global domain

Now, if I understand things correctly, the SRV1 domain and the DOM1 domain are
supposed to have the same SID. So perhaps this doesn't matter. But when I
try to run
net rpc testjoin
on a second machine srv2, I get
