network connection crashes
Since I get any response I try again -- hoping that somebody have ANY idea! A network with a RedHat 6.0 linux server and samba 2.0.6 and Windows 95 clients: When I for example copy large (binary?) files from local drives to one of my Samba shares I VERY often experience that the network connection to the Win95 machine crashes. The lovely Windows Blue-Screen message about an exception appears,

[PATCH 1/5] fat: fix minfatsize for large FAT32
.... So it may still be worth relaxing the check especially if, as Ady pointed out, not having all sectors addressable doesn't make a disk any less valid. Hi Ady, On 2016.02.25 02:08, Ady via Syslinux wrote: > There is an "extra" sector, in comparison to... what exactly? Sorry if I wasn't clear. I think I implied that the Large FAT32 fat size had an extra sector compared to minfatsize, when of course I meant the opposite (the Large FAT32 has one less sector than the minfatsize computed by the unpatched code, hence the check

password problem -- or bug?
A Redhat 6.0 linux server with Samba 2.0.6, Windows 95/98 clients. By accident I just discovered a surprising and quite disappointing password problem on our Samba network. If a user on our network has a non-empty Windows password, he is forced to supply his password to log in to the network and gain writing privilegies -- as expected. However, if the user has an empty Windows password, he is

Can this be done with PXELinux?
Hi This is what I like to be able to do. 1. Computer boot on LAN, using PXELinux. 2. If the computer is booting for the first time it sends MAC adr, RAM, size of harddrive and name of videocard to a shared folder on a computer, maybe a server, that is attached to the network. 3. If this is not the first time it scan for a new task, could be a new ghostimage or an unattended installation of a
