CentOS 7 : keyboard shortcut for mouse gesture?
Hi, I have a CentOS 7 (GNOME) desktop installed as a VirtualBox guest on my Slackware64 14.1 workstation, to fiddle with it. Guest Additions are installed and configured OK, and 3D acceleration is working too. In its default configuration, the GNOME desktop under CentOS shows an "expos?" (I don't know how you call this), a list of all open windows, when you move the mouse cursor to

isolinux boooting update
An update to the problem I reported earlier - A kind list reader, Michael K Ter Louw, suggested I try syslinux v1.67, and viola!, my problem went away completely. So something between 1.67 and 1.71 got broke with respect to isolinux. Hmm... Another kind list reader, Seth Kurtzberg, was kind enough to make and effort to send an updated initrd; although it didn't solve the problem, it was

Opera 7
Hi guys, I was just surprised to see that the Opera 7 Installer (without Java) runs perfectly and installs Op7. After that I was even more surprised to see that also Opera itself starts without any modifications needed as wine opera.exe. But surfing a little around I found some problems, for which perhaps anyone here has a solution? - sadly it crashes every now and then. I suspect something

DBus question
...t's the case, could the argument be changed to something like string:'screen' int32:0, which is much less cryptic and wouldn't need constructions like: xwininfo -root | grep id: | awk '{ print $4 }' The reason I'm asking is I would like to ship the app with some default gestures for compiz, but I have to somehow work around the fact that the id will be different on every machine. Regards, Gerd.

Suggesting changes to HELP files?
Is there a procedure for suggesting changes to HELP files of the core R distribution? If yes, what is it? If it would be considered a friendly gesture, I could find the relevant *.Rd file and submit a suggested modification to it someplace. Alternatively, I could just send suggestions someplace if they would receive appropriate consideration. On many occasions, I think of

Rock Ridge. Was: Allowed code pages and encodings to write f0.txt through f1.txt?
Hi, i began to implement a common lookup function for SUSP and Rock Ridge entries: /* Obtain the payload bytes of all SUSP entries with a given signature. @param fs The data source from which to read CE blocks. @param dir_rec Memory containing the whole ISO 9660 directory record. @param sig Two characters of SUSP signature. NemoShell
Hi, This project might be of interest to some people on this list: http://www.nemoux.net/ In short, it is a multi-touch window manager for Wayland, that allows for freely rotated windows, gestures, multiple input devices and screens, etc. It is being developed by a few Koreans for three years now and looks quite polished (I had the chance to try it out yesterday at the ITS conference). Unfortunately neither code nor binaries have been released yet. While they plan to publish the system...

touchpad stopped working in KDE only
I just installed CentOS 7 on a ThinkPad T420s. All went well. Touchpad worked fine at login screen, in Gnome, and in KDE. KDE is my preferred environment, so I began customizing - including configuring the touchpad to accept "Tapping" gestures via System Settings, Input Devices, Touchpad. As soon as I hit "apply", the touchpad stopped responding to cursor movements. The touchpad buttons continue to work, just no cursor movements with touches. Touch pad is still fully functional at login prompt and in Gnome. However, cursor...

proposed patch to /src/library/datasets/man/mtcars.Rd
Mara Averick noticed some oddities in the mtcars data set: https://twitter.com/dataandme/status/1033341784959709184 I propose the following patch. While anyone with access to JSTOR could dig in and find this information themselves, it would seem a friendly gesture to include it ... cheers Ben Bolker =================================================================== --- mtcars.Rd

Digium launches flying phone-phone
Huntsville 4/1/11 Digium inc today launched a new flying android desk phone. The new handset includes a small low noise helicopter to assist in call transfers. The device has speech and gesture recognition, so when you don't want to take a call you can either wave it away or say ("Kevin will answer that"). The flying handset has a megaphone and boom mic for priority call mode

Making it easier to contribute wxRuby-SWIG code
After seeing contributions from Dmitry and Alex, I''m wondering how we can better organize and encourage user contributions. ORGANIZING Maybe identifying what is still missing in wxRuby-SWIG and publishing a prioritized todo list could useful to contributors. GETTING NOTICED It might be useful to post a link to the unassigned todo list each month to comp.lang.ruby and ask for

Delete to Archive?
Hi, I recently switched from being a Gmail user to running Dovecot [2.1.10] on my server. Thank you for an easy to use piece of software that solves problems! I am trying (unsuccessfully) to replicate something from GMail. When I delete a message on my iPhone (or other client), I would like to have it moved to an "All Mail" or Archive folder, instead of actually deleting it. Is

Wine and mouse wheel tilts
I'm not happy with the way that Wine interpretes mouse wheel tilts (remaps them to scrolls) I want to change this to keyboard input. I want to do this because I use the wheel tilt to change target in World of Warcraft when I play in Windows, and I want to carry this over to Linux. I'm a bit of a n00b, but does anyone have any idea how I'd go about doing this? I know how to apply

compressed folder bug
I found a strange behaviour in dovecot compressed folder, maybe a bug. It happens only if you have one (and just one!) email in a gz compressed folder. I'm talking about a mbox server. Step to reproduce: - create a new folder, using any client (I think this step is not important, it happens also if tou create this folder server-side). - copy one message (any message) into newly created
