Configuring for virtual users in Postfix
...t = 1 virtual_mailbox_domains = your.domain.here virtual_transport = dovecot However, Postfix does not recognize the dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1 setting. There is a "virtual_destination_recipient_limit =" setting in Postfix. Is that the setting that I should tweak? -- Jerry gesbbb at yahoo.com There is no TRUTH. There is no REALITY. There is no CONSISTENCY. There are no ABSOLUTE STATEMENTS. I'm very probably wrong.

Logging in with '+' delimiter
...l with '+'addressing; i.e., "foo+bar at domain.com" into "path-to-mail/domain.com/foo+bar". The problem is when I attempt to access the mailbox, the user name: foo+bar at domain.com is rejected. Is this by design, or is there a way to circumvent this problem? -- Jerry gesbbb at yahoo.com Fortune favors the lucky.

MailDIR and expire plugin
...t correct for MailDIR style mailboxes? It doesn't appear correct; however, I have not been able to find any specific documentation on expire with MailDIR style mailboxes. I am assuming that the expire plugin will work since IMAP has not been implemented on this server. -- Jerry |::::======= gesbbb at yahoo.com |::::======= |=========== |=========== | QOTD: "Wouldn't it be wonderful if real life supported control-Z?"

outlook 2007 mailbox sort order
What are people doing to affect the sort order of mailboxes in outlook? Apple Mail and MS Outlook similarly suck in that they do not sort '~' correctly -- mailboxes starting with '~' are first instead of last. At least I think this is the fault of the client, since Mulberry sorts correctly. At least with Apple Mail I can drag and drop mailboxes into any display order I like, so

Regarding: **OFF LIST** subject declaration
...the groups members, then why mark it "OFF LIST" to begin with? I am aware of the prefix "OT" used in several forums; however, that is usually only used to thwart the moderator of the forum from banning the message or chastising the OP. Its use is of dubious success. -- Jerry gesbbb at yahoo.com |::::======= |::::======= |=========== |=========== | The course of true anything never does run smooth. Samuel Butler

dovecot.log file permissions and ownership
...open log file /var/log/dovecot.log: Permission denied ) I have used the following ownership types for the file: 1) root:wheel 2) dovecot:dovecot 3) root:dovecot 4) dovecot:wheel The only thing that works all the time is to give the file full r/w (0666) permission. That seems extreme. -- Jerry gesbbb at yahoo.com |::::======= |::::======= |=========== |=========== | A nuclear war can ruin your whole day.

I stream read - stale NFS file handle
Hi, I am running dovecot/postfix/amavisd within a jail on freebsd. I have a nullfs mounted within the jail that links back to an NFS server. I am constantly getting these errors and my mail never gets delivered. I am hoping someone has a fix for me! IDLE timing issue - dovecot or fetchmail issue?
Hi guys, Thanks for the great product. We've used dovecot for ages as our internal mail server and it works great! I've recently started using fetchmail 6.3.9 (with IDLE enabled) to download mail from our ISP (Pair networks). The ISP is running Dovecot 1.1.16. I am unable to get the info about the dovecot config at this time. The IDLE support in fetchmail allows us to deliver

Postfix and Dovecot SASL
Hello all, I am struggeling to get my Dovecot SASL to work within postfix. I have used the configuration example listed on the main-site of dovecot and it basically isn't giving me any success at all. I am probably missing something easy, but after spending a few days testing and walking through everything I could think about I thought figured it was better to ask :) Hope someone can point me

IMAP goes down from time to time
Good Afternoon I?m really new at this and i don?t know if i?m posting at the right place. My problem is that our Dovecot IMAP is stopping from time to time with no info in the log, i just realize about this when our support person call me saying that the whatsup monitor is showing the IMAP4 process down. I can figure about this too by trying to get in our webmail Horde and i cannot login.

Mailing list's prefix
