Hello,
we run SuSE8.2 with Samba 2.2.7a-78 (SuSE's own version?!) and Windows
XP clients. After an update to 3.0.0, everything works well (user access
on file services and printing), but we can't save the "advanced printing
features(?)" (german: "Erweiterte Druckfunktionen aktivieren") flag
(WinXP -> Settings -> any printer -> Advanced) anymore.

windows xp wildcard matching in cmd.exe (search pattern is changed to uppercase when using wildcards)
Hello!
We probably have a Samba related Windows XP problem:
When I start the cmd.exe shell, enter a samba share and call "dir" I can
see (for example):
a.java, b.java and c.JAVA
But if I call "dir *.java", only c.JAVA is reported.
A ethereal trace shows that Windows XP is sending "Search Pattern:
\server\path\<.JAVA". That means that all letters have changed to

How to interpret some diagnostic output
I do not know if I have a problem or not.
The R script at the end of this email seems to
run properly and a I get a boxplot that looks
proper but I get the long string of messages
during execution of the script looking like:
