...ng" but it's been making hardlinks for 12
hours (at least).
There's only 36Gb in snapshot, the data didn't take
too long. but now there's no progress indicator and
??? hours left. Would it be straightforward to
include progress when creating hardlinks?

r tidy
Is there an r-tidy program? something that works similar to perl
tidy? http://perltidy.sourceforge.net/ which takes program code
and reformats white space with standard indentations and spacing?
I did find a ruby based rtidy, but that is for html formatting.

R static is dynamically linked!!
...;& make install \
&& echo "R ${v} installed in ${i}"
But the result is still dynamic:
ELF 64-bit LSB executable, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for NetBSD 4.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped
Is there some way to make this static?

warnings on symlinks using link-dest
...(17)
If not apparent, this the the link being backed up
/sawmill/home/geo/comphome -> /sawmill/comp/home/geo
I get lots of similar warnings, but I'm not sure if they are from
all symlinks, exactly all the absolute symlinks or some other
set. What is happening here?

encrypted destination
...n about encrypted destination and it's
mostly answered with the --source-filter / --dest-filter patch by Kyle
Jones. There are also some proposed updates to the patch.
A lot of these posts 3 years old, is there plans or reasons not to
include them in the main line code?

The only problem I see with the source host is the rsync
command doesn't complete. What can I check? What is
going on here???

using rsync on raw device
...te /u0510a/rwd0d.img which I could deploy with the
dd comand to /dev/rwd0d on the target host. (a UFS
filesystem btw)
But it's obviously not happy treating a device as a
file. Is there some way around this, I don't see an
appropriate option in the man page.
Thanks!

any testing suite available
...All,
This is my first post to the list and I'm about to setup my first
glusterfs to replace an existing configuration at $WORK
Once I get it up and running, I will want to test it out and I was
wondering if anyone had scripts or procedures available before I write
my own?

rsync to completely mirror an entire machine
I do apologize if this has been discussed previously. Looking thru
some of the archives I wasn't able to clearly answer my question, only
find bits & pieces.
Situation:
I have a web & mail server (production) and a backup machine. The two
machines are near identical as far as hardware & software
installation. I use the backup machine as a mirror of the main. If

package install failure
Hello,
the arm package is failing to install, it says I need gnu make but it's not
clear how I specify which make to use in the R environment. For example I
already have gmake installed. How to I instruct R to use it?
