libc6-xen not used on AMD Geode LX system
Hi,
I'm trying to install xen+Debian Etch on a Geode LX system. Xen
boots fine, but although the package "libc6-xen" is installed I have a
large number of such errors:
4gb seg fixup, process syslogd (pid 1878), cs:ip 73:b7f24610
All processes triggers it, and from what I've found on the web it's
a sign that libc6-xen is not recognized. Indeed:

CentOS 5.x on Geode LX
Greetings all-
I'm currently working with CentOS 5.x (various version 5.0 - 5.5) attempting to run it on a system based on the AMD Geode LX CPU. There are known issues with this CPU running Centos 5, specifically those listed here:
http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2552
The kernel and system run fine on the Geode LX, but the installer detects the CPU as i586. Since there is no i586 kernel

Unable to boot from USB CD-ROM on AMD Geode LX800
I'm trying to build a bootable CD for an Advantech PCM-4153 board (based on
an AMD Geode LX800) that will allow to boot from USB CD-ROM drive. I've
created an ISO that will load ISOLINUX (3.51) and appears to load the kernel
and initrd images, but reboots the system when it tries to run the kernel.
When I use either isolinux.bin and isolinux-debug.bin, the last messages I
see on screen

xf86-video-amd has been renamed xf86-video-geode
Courtesy notice for developers - the xf86-video-amd driver has been
renamed to xf86-video-geode to avoid confusion with AMD's other
GPU offerings. This should help cut down on mis-directed bug
reports and questions.
Thanks,
Jordan

Optimizing on AMD Geode (MMX, no SSE)
I'm trying to improve Opus on an AMD Geode CPU, which has limited SSE
support (called 3DNow!), but MMX.
Without optimizations I can only encode 16 bit audio @16KHz with
complexity up to 2-3 without underruns.
I tried compiling with SSE2/4 optimizations, but all I got was a crash
with SIGILL, so I looked into optimized code and found that a good
starting point was the dot product, so I

with(x, Recall()) Crash
R-devel,
I discovered a segfault in my R code that boiled down to my incorrect
use of the Recall() function embedded within a with() function. Since
segfaults are generally bad things, even when it's the user's fault for
writing nonsense code, I thought I'd pass along the offending code. I've
tested the crash on R 2.11.1 (on Linux and Mac), but not in devel
versions of R.

Cross compiling Asterisk, Dahdi..
Is there a proper, documented way to cross compile DAHDI and Asterisk for
a processor/system other than the one you're currently typing on?
Now.. I have been doing this for some time, but it's been really
frustrating every time I change/upgrade, etc.
I've just tried to compile DAHDI for an AMD Geode system on my development
system which is Intel Atom. Building the kernel is easy -

Creating unary operators
Is it correct (by its lack of mention in the R-Language Definition
Manual) that it is impossible to create a user-defined unary operator?
Ex: (This doesn't work, but it's an example of what I'm looking for)
> "%PLUSONE%" <- function(x) x + 1
> %PLUSONE% 2
[1] 3
And if the above is impossible, am I limited to only the + - ~ ! unary
operators for overloading?

POSIXlt matching bug
I came across the below mis-feature/bug using match with POSIXlt objects

> table <- as.POSIXlt(Sys.Date()+0:5)
> length(x)
[1] 1
> x %in% table # I expect TRUE

> match(x, table) # I expect 1
