NFS performance - default rsize
Hi list, We've had an interesting NFS performance issue with the following setup. Clients : CentOS 5.5, kernel 2.6.18-194.el5 Server : Solaris 10 kernel Generic_142901-08 Reading a file (not cached) with dd : dd if=file1 of=/dev/null bs=1024k count=100 performance is around.. 700 kB/s ! /proc/mounts shows rsize has been negotiated to 1mB If we force rsize to a smaller value, 32kB, the problem goes away and we're back around 70/80 mB/s read performance. [LLVMdev] What is the canonical way to build on Solaris 10?
Hi, I am trying to get r114797 to build on Solaris 10u6 (5.10 Generic_142901-03). gcc 4.2 is installed and configured with: -bash-3.00$ /opt/gcc4/bin/gcc -v Using built-in specs. Target: i386-pc-solaris2.10 Configured with: ./configure --prefix=/opt/gcc4 --with-gnu-as --with-as=/usr/sfw/bin/gas --without-gnu-ld --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --enable-shared --enable-languages=...

Failure to zfs destroy - after interrupting zfs receive
Formerly, if you interrupted a zfs receive, it would leave a clone with a % in its name, and you could find it via "zdb -d" and then you could destroy the clone, and then you could destroy the filesystem you had interrupted receiving. That was considered a bug, and it was fixed, I think by Sun. If the lingering clone was discovered laying around, zfs would automatically destroy it.

Still stuck with Samba on Solaris 10
I was hoping someone could post, or point me to, a clear set of instructions for compiling Samba 3.5.3 (or even 3.4.8) on Solaris 10. Or even just confirmation that Solaris 3.5.3 really can compile on Solaris 10 with active directory, nsswitch and zfs support. (I notice that Samba and Blastwave versions of Samba 3.4.x do not include zfs and nsswitch support.) I have a consistent issue that I
