Error when loading odesolve
Dear list, I installed odesolve package (0.5-15) in R 2.3.1 in a Solaris server (Generic_118558-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-1000). The installing progress completed without errors, though several warnings like "Warning: Option -fPIC passed to ld, if ld is invoked, ignored otherwise" were outputed. However, when loading the odesolve package by library(odesolve), following error m...

Solaris 9/Samba 3.0.21a
Hi list, Having a problem with a newly replaced fileserver. Using V3.0.21a on fully patched Solaris 9 Sparc. uname -a reports Generic_118558-06. Problems reported seem to be linked to file size; for instance, users can't open their .pst or netscape mail files stored on a share of the samba server. Other files seem to open properly, just large files seem to be affected (100 mb or more). Compiled with: ./configure --with-acl-support...

Red Hat release info
Hi all, I''m looking at changing the operatingsystemrelease fact for Red Hat. Linux currently just uses the kernel release as the operating system release, but I''ve got a client who wants the release to have both the specific distro (e.g., AS or EL) and the release (e.g., 3 or 4). Will this particularly annoy anyone? Anyone want to help make the release string work on

NFS issue with ZFS
I have Solaris 10 U7 that is exporting ZFS filesytem. The client is Solaris 9 U7. I can mount the filesytem just fine but I am unable to write to it. showmount -e shows my mount is set for everyone. the dfstab file has option rw set. So what gives? Phillip -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
