Fun fact... If I echo my data to the same directory as the script is located in it works. But it does not allow writing to /tmp I'm good with that. The kernel package before was NOT the 693.5.2 it was 692.2.2 Does that help at all ? my kernel is not yet supported or something ? Hi All - I have a box running the above. Power was lost long enough that UPS did not work. When power came back on the C7 box boots way faster than the switch and resulted in no network. power cycling the C7 box resulted in network. This even happened a second time. When I do the date +%Z I get the timezone. Which currently is EDT. I am sending information to another system, that says EDT is not a valid timezone. I have no way to modify the other system. My question is - is there a way to get the non-day-lite savings time zone ? For example EST is valid - EDT is not. Just curious if there is an easy way already present to get a standard time zone. Hi All, What is the correct way to provide a CentOS 7 - WMware image for ESX ? As an amateur to VMware - I thought - great I can get VMplayer and ESX should be able to import my image... Wrong... I have a disk that is flagging errors, attempting to rescue the data. I tried dd first - if gets about 117G of 320G disk and stops incrementing the save image any more. Now I'm trying ddrescue and it also stops about the same point Thoughts on how to continue past that point ? Thanks, Jerry

I have a Centos 7 install that seems to be filling up disk space to 100% on the root partition. in /tmp I found files of names... systemd-private-XXXXXXXX-colord and rtkit I have never seen these files before. there were also files of XXXXXXXXXXXXX.tmp in the /tmp folder. Why are these files appearing? I have a number of installs and never came across this before. Thanks, Jerry

Hi all, I have a customer server with 32 cores, 128G ram i7960X. So nice box... Why is it that "all" I am really doing at the moment is copying things to an external SSD disk USB3 connected and the machine "freezes"... Why is that? clearly plenty of CPU RAM everything... I am upgrading a box from 1.4 to 1.6 and my console/dsp stopped working. I am getting a SIP/401 Unauthorized error and then a SIP/404 error. I changed nothing in the configs. Is there a particular parameter needed for 1.6 that 1.4 did not care about? If I drop back to 1.4 it starts working again. Thanks Jerry
