creation time stamps for ext4 ?
Hi,
I would like to know if there are any plans to introduce a creation
timestamp in future ext3/4 versions. Having a 4th timestamp saving the
creation time would be very good for projekts like Samba for example.
It would be important that creation time can also be set manually
later on by some system call. Systems like FreeBSD's UFS and Solais'
ZFS already support creation times.

Perform action after in-place edit
I want to be able to call an action after performing an edit using the
in-place editor macro. I want to update multiple divs so I was
thinking about using an RJS template. However, I can''t figure out how
to trigger another action after the method created by
in_place_edit_for runs. Is there is an option on Ajax.InPlaceEditor
where I can inject some Element.update calls?
Thanks,
Shane

AFS token passing
Hi
I was finally able to build openssh with afs support using the
kth-kerberos libraries. I cannot get the token passing to work. I
think I am missing something fundamental in setting this up but I can't
seem to find any documentation. I would geatly appreciate any advice
offered.

probably error in chan_capi
Hi,
Today I've installed chan_capi on newest asterisk 1.05.
I have HFC cards everything is geat (but echo cancelling method is too
simple). But I see something very wrong. I want to attach 2 outgoing msn to
both B channels.
so in capi.conf I've added:
msn=19900,19901
After asterisk claims that I don't have any device with msn = 19901.
And I cannot call out with such msn.

Joypad emulated for more than one player
i suspect my USB Joypad controller is controlling more than one player or in some cases (acting or having more than one instance active), acting like at least another 2 controllers connected at the same time, games like Guilty Gear Isuka/XX #Reloaded can configure the number of players/controllers for being used, while i configure the game for use only port 1 for joypad, in the case of Guilty

Building PHP PECL modules
I'm attempting to build some PECL modules on fully updated CentOS 4.2
system. Preferably pack them into nice RPM packages. However, seems
I'm missing something. For example, this is what I get for sqlite module:
$ pear makerpm SQLite-1.0.3.tgz
`phpize' failed
The php-devel package is installed (so I do have phpize command). It's
just that it is failing. If I unpack the

[Request] file_column configurability
I wasn''t sure where to email this request, so I am hoping the author of
file_column actually sees this. I was wondering if there were any plans to
allow some configurability in the file_column plugin. By configurability I
mean allowing the developer to define which table column is used as the
unique identifier when creating image folders. Right now it seems like it
uses the ID of the

Alrighty.. ALMOST there! :)
So, a friend pointed me to the patch for sock.c:533, and that patch went a
LONG way in fixing the streaming problems I've been experiencing (on
solaris 8/sparc.) Thanks so much for that!
Now, I think that *sending* the stream is now squared away, but I think
one problem remains on the receiving end of things.
I use the perl streamcast utility to stream my playlists, and tracks sound
great.

[ADV] Rails Recipes Beta Book is now available
I''m delighted to announce that Chad Fowler''s new book, Rails Recipes,
is now available
as a Beta Book.
This is a great title for folks who know Rails, and for folks who
want to get the most out of Rails. It contains detailed recipes for
doing real-world things with Rails, all illustrated with working
code. Some examples are drawn from Rails 1.1, the rest from Rails 1.0.

Checking remote servers
I''d like to hear some suggestions about securely administering a
system remotely. Here''s the application: a project is going to
scatter some server machines around the US. The server machines will
be running Linux, with the only network servers being a custom
application.
Ignoring the separate question of physical security, how can I
remotely check the system''s
