How to disable xen debugger?
Hi, I followed the instructions in tools/debugger/gdb/README to enable the xen debugging feature. But after that my system (a kernel module) works 10 times slower. Maybe the debugger slows down the running. What''s the right way to reverse and disable the debugger? I tried to disable the "Kernel hacking -> Compile the kernel with debug info [*]" option. But it does not help.

gdbserver-xen/gdb over linux kernel running on hvmloader?
Hello, I need to test a linux device driver. I am wondering whether it''s possible to run the kernel with the new driver on hvmloader? Is it possible to run gdb/gdbserver-xen against? Has anyone done this? Any pointer will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Test. --------------------------------- Never miss an email again! Yahoo! Toolbar alerts you the instant new Mail arrives. Bug#446114: xen-utils-3.1-1: build gdbserver
Package: xen-utils-3.1-1 Version: 3.1.0-2 Severity: normal Hi, With HVM, Xen now has a way to gdb the kernel of a domain by running a gdbserver, available in tools/debugger/gdb. It would be useful to build it. pdb missing files?
Hello, I''m trying to get PDB working in accordance with the instructions at http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~sos22/replay.bk/docs/misc/XenDebugger-HOWTO and a message from this list: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2004-08/msg00017.html When I try to build pdb I first get errors because the Makefile is configured to treat warnings as errors, and there are some warnings.

[PATCH] avoid injection of missed timer interrupts while debugging a guest
Hi Keir, Ian, Today if we stop the guest for debugging using the gdbserver and then continue with the guest execution the PIT finds that the time has gone ahead and it missed to inject so many timer ticks, and it tries to inject all of those one by one. So after the gdb continue command the guest just handles the timer interrupts for a long time before it can do anything...

Guest debugging fails for 32bit, works for 64bit
I''ve followed the instructions in tools/debugger/gdb/README for building and using gdbserver-xen. While playing around with debugging a running guest or dissecting a core file, I''ve discovered that using it with a 32-bit PV domU fails but it works fine on the same guest if it''s booted with a 64-bit kernel. Is this a known limitation, or am I doing something incorrectly?...

How to debug Xen and Dom0 driver?
hi, I am wondering if anybody is doing Xen or Dom0 debugging with gdb here. If yes, could you show me the procedure of doing that? Thanks, Neo -- I would remember that if researchers were not ambitious probably today we haven''t the technology we are using! _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

problem with 'xm save' in xen-3.4
...it's the right place to > observe emulated devices. Cced Xen-devel as well. You can save a domain state using the tool stack (probably `xm save` with Xen 3.4) and restore it as many time as you want. To run gdb on qemu-dm, remplace the /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm by a script: #!/bin/sh exec gdbserver 0.0.0.0:1234 /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm.bak $@ And run gdb. `target remote localhost 1234` to connect to gdbserver. With the latest Xen (4.1 and unstable), you can specifie a different device model in the config file instead of remplacing the default binary. Regards, -- Anthony PERARD

Patch for Analog Devices compiler & fixed-point AGC
...linux is great and the GCC are very good tools, it's not an option for me, because I need: - a small RTOS, where I can control hardware directly, and the VDK is just fine - an IDE with JTAG debugging, and VDSP is good enough. But maybe I'm wrong and we can debug using Eclipse without the gdbserver running on the linux target ??? -- Stephane Lesage ATEIS International

Debugging nested KVM guest (L2) booting with libguestfs/gdb
Heya, With latest Fedora Rawhide Kernel, I see a nested KVM guest hanging at boot (not unusual). Rich once suggested this[1] to try to attach gdb to the nested L2 guest to find out where_ it's stuck, tonight I set out to try it out (with KVM & TCG). Below is all what I tried. In guest hypervisor (L1): $ git clone git://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs.git $ git log | head -1
