[PATCH 1/4] x86 paravirt_ops: create no_paravirt.h for native ops
(Andrew, please sit these in the -mm tree for cooking)
Create a paravirt.h header for (almost) all the critical operations
which need to be replaced with hypervisor calls.
For the moment, this simply includes no_paravirt.h, where all the
native implementations now live.

[PATCH V5] x86/kexec: Change NMI and MCE handling on kexec path
...at the top 64 bits are unchanged
(and ASSERT()s the fact) and performs a regular write on the lower
64 bits.
* _set_gate_lower
This is functionally equivalent to the already present _set_gate(),
except it uses _write_gate_lower rather than updating both 64bit
values.
* _update_gate_addr_lower
This is designed to update an IDT entry handler only, without
altering any other settings in the entry. It also uses
_write_gate_lower.
The IDT entry helpers are required because:

[PATCH 1/3] Paravirtualization: Kernel Ring Cleanups
Hi all,
I've been looking at finding common ground between the VMI, Xen and
other paravirtualization approaches, and after some discussion, we're
getting somewhere.
These first two patches are the fundamentals, stolen mainly from the
VMI patches: removing assumptions about the kernel running in ring 0,
and macro-izing all the obvious para-virtualize-needing insns. The

[RFC PATCH 00/35] Xen i386 paravirtualization support
Unlike full virtualization in which the virtual machine provides
the same platform interface as running natively on the hardware,
paravirtualization requires modification to the guest operating system
to work with the platform interface provided by the hypervisor.
Xen was designed with performance in mind. Calls to the hypervisor
are minimized, batched if necessary, and non-critical codepaths

[PATCH 00/17] ia64/pv_ops take 6
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/pv_ops support which is the
framework for virtualization support.
Changes from take 5 are rebased to Linux 2.6.26-rc3,
bug fix ivt.S paravirtualization and multi entry point support.
I believe these patches can be applied to the linux ia64 repository.
On x86 various ways to support virtualization were proposed, and
eventually pv_ops won. So on ia64 the pv_ops
