Re: Run Game In Separate X Server?
The solution provided does not work for me. I use a patched wine-1.3.18 (WinePulse). I try to run Call of Duty 4 in a separate xserver. Running games in a separate xserver works great for native Linux games, but I can't get it to work for a game that needs to start with Wine. For example, if I run: Code: xinit /usr/bin/env WINEPREFIX="/home/serrano/.wine" /usr/bin/wine

keymaps and scancodes
...lem: I installed wine on a UTF-8 Linux system, and everything works fine (running Wine 1.3.something, currently). But when I installed some games where you can use ^(~ on german keyboards) to open a console, nothing happens. Even when I ported some windows games over - installed in wine, deleted gamedir, copied gamedir from old windows installation - it does not work. And it does not matter if run wine as X11 wm or inside another wm. Do I need to tell windows to use scancodes instead of the host OS's keymappings? How do I do that? Thanks for any idea.

Something else that's strange. I've unpacked both of these games into ~/.wine/drive_c/games/<gamedir>, but when I attempt to run either of them, files are copied from <gamedir> into my home directory. In the case of one game (called "La Mulana"), it is a .ini file. In the case of the other, it is two .dlls and an .xm music file that the game plays. This would seem to indicate th...
