Hello and sorry for necro posting xD this is the only thread I found about stalker. I really want this game to run. I've tried to run it under ubuntu but when I boot it ti makes xengine to crash... I've tried to follow the guide posted but i've got none of the packages from the line #yum install etc... how can I fix it? plz

Ok I got it to launch but i have to run it through safe mode and it gets to the part where it starts loading like the tis and tricks screen and just sits there......
IT NEVER FINISHES PLEASE HELP????

Problem running Knights of the Force 2.
...KOTF 2 (http://www.kotf.com/) with no problems. Than trying to run the app with wine-1.0.1 @ Ubuntu 8.10 process failed. Bash gives this:

Battlefront II
Ok I would like to run a game in wine called "Starwars Battlefront II"
My old attempts to do this were not working so I posted here I typed this into the terminal:
wine start "c:\\Program Files\\LucasArts\\Star Wars Battlefront II\\GameData\\BattlefrontII.exe"
and it told me this:

Tribes 2 error
So here is the resulting output when I run Tribes2.exe (available from tribesnext.com/downloads) along in its patched state (the patch just concerns enablign multiplayer on non-vivendi servers, as I recall, so I doubt it is at fault)

winelib shared memory problem
...is a windows binary compiled in Visual C++ which acts like a Server.
The second program is a Client, which I compile from sources. Both are written in C++.
Server and client communicate using two IPC mechanisms: named pipe and shared memory. shared memory consists of a structure, e.g.:

Using mingw compiler Client compiles well. Then I launch Server and Client using wine and they connect using both IPC mechanisms properly.
Compiling using winelib also works. But when winelib compiled Client tries to connect with the Server and read shared memory, it fails to read anything prop...
