new Win7 security setting broke Samba
...s to get the new version to work with the mandated security policy. We only use Samba to map Linux shares onto Win7 clients. The Win7 clients are part of a domain but the Linux servers are not.
Any help with how to setup Samba to work in this environment would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

estimating degrees of freedom iof student t
...nction. I simulate data
from a normal distribution and fit the student t. The estimated
degrees of freedom gets larger at each iteration and there is no
convergence. It seems there should be some mechanism where it
switched to a normal distribution when the degrees of freedom gets
very large.

[LLVMdev] Suggestion for VM porting to LLVM
Gabrielle,
The way I see it, its pretty much the same thing... Conversion to LLVM-IR of
a custom bytecode is the same as conversion to LLVM-IR of a custom language.
The syntax of the 'custom language' just happens to be binary bytecode.

working fine. I'm still having some issues to understand the garbage
collector, but I'll delve more into it as soon as the other features
will be complete

[LLVMdev] Suggestion for VM porting to LLVM
Hi,
Isn't it intended to explain how to build a compiler for a custom
language that targets LLVM-IR ? Is it useful also to understand how to
build a VM that is meant to execute custom bytecode (converting it to
LLVM-IR previously) ?
Thanks,
Gabriele

research question
...tempting to read through the source code of Icecast but
don't have a great understanding of multi-threaded C so if anyone could give
me pointers or a general description about how the shared
variables/condition variables are used and for what conceptual purpose I
would be much obliged.
Thanks,

PS, I wasn't sure whether to post this on the developers' list or not so
thought it was safer to post here first.

Samba, LDAP und TLS
Hi List ;-)
I consider my question to be rather simple one ... nevertheless I could not
find an answer to it up to now.
I have an OpenLDAP-server which is the user-db for an samba3-server. I want to
use TLS for secure communication, so I created a ca for this as well as
keys/certificates for my LDAP and samba-server. Informing the LDAP-server
about its certificate/key is easy ... but how do I
