getent passwd not return the same number of records from a call to another call

(I'm on a debian jessie, rfc2307 is on, and the installation of samba has been done by apt-get ... ) On AD domain member : -------------------------------- We have the same problem (same distribution and installation). Futhermore, "getent group" returns some groups with the same ID. Maybe problems are bounded. Regards

using LaTeX-fonts with R
...;, family=CM); dev.off(); I have the two files sfrm1000.afm and sfrm1000.pfb. To my knowledge the Type-1 font is the pfb file, which I never gave explicitly. Furthermore I am confused by the fact that I have to give 4 afm files. (sfrm1000.afm and sfrm1000.pfb are from the latex cm-super package.) Futhermore if someone has a HOWTO on using LaTeX fonts with R, please provide a pointer. Thank you in advance, Frank --

OO model style: inheritance
...e features in future I am trying to design a clean OO architecture of my models: The base object should be NODE. All other objects extend NODE, those are GALLERY and IMAGE (a GALLERY consists of 0..* IMAGEs). Each NODE has an owner (user_id) plus some default fields like created_on and updated_on. Futhermore there is an object COMMENT which can be attached to any object that extends NODE (belongs_to NODE). According to this design I modeled the db schema as follows: CREATE TABLE `nodes` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `user_id` int(11) NOT NULL default ''0'', `created_on...

dot - comma problem
...ore loading the database: > a <- 10.1 > a [1] 10.1 After loading the database > db <- odb.open("Buchhaltung.odb") > a [1] 10,1 but assigning a numeric value to a variable still requires a dot: > a <- 5,1 Error: Unexpected ',' in "a <- 5," Futhermore, printed variables still use the comma as decimal separator: > write.csv(a) "","x" "1",10,1 Since this leads to serious parsing errors when odb sets up sql-queries (eg 5,1 becomes 51), I need to get rid of that behaviour such that numeric values are correctly di...

Reconstructing duplicate lvm

Booting initrd with PXELinux
...uz APPEND root=/dev/ram0 initrd=rootfs.gz PXELINUX will fetch both the kernel(vmlinuz) and the compressed root filesystem using lftp. After this PXELINUX boots the kernel which mounts the initial ramdisk as root. ----- Also, dhcpd doesn't know the option 'dhcp-class-identifier'. Futhermore, using the statement: append dhcp-parameter-request-list 208, 209, 210, 211; makes the dhcpd to obmit the router option for the clients. I'm not sure if this is (a bug) on the server or client side. Anyway, we now have PXELINUX working at our company and it works great. Thank you for your ef...

PDC and Clear passwords
...ncrypted passwords are a requirement for a PDC. However I am trying to set up SAMBA as a PDC for a bunch of windows boxes that will authenticate on the stadrin pam module (www.stadrin.com) using Vasco otp tokens. For the pam module, it is a requirement that the passwords are sent in clear text. Futhermore, I have SAMBA set up as a PDC, I successfully joined the domain and I can login with my domain account. However, logon script doesn't run, and if I try to open a share, I get the username popup asking me to authenticate. Filling in the exact same stuff as the account I used to logon gets me...

SEC: UNCLASSIFIED:-Could not convert sid to gid
