trouble installing packages on OpenSuse 11.4
Hi, I am trying to install a bunch of packages via command line and can use some help in getting it right. My env is a freshly setup OpenSuse 11.4 on an amd desktop. I have not yet installed gcc (Will I need gcc to install packages? I have installed make, assuming R might need it.). I have tried it both under R2.12 and R2.13. I have a list of packages to install such as fImport, fGarch, zoo,

Can't chown a file to an ADS username
I've got a samba install on Linux with winbind installed, etc. I've configured it the same as I have under Solaris, but for some reason, I can't chown a file to an AD username. I have joined the box to the domain, I can wbinfo -u/-g and get lists of users and groups on the domain. When I run getent passwd or getent group, however, I don't see any of the domain users and groups.

Problem with rpart
Not sure if anyone has posted on this problem ... I want to use rpart to build a binary tree on a relatively large dataset with ~1400 data points and 15 predictors. But I've noticed that rpart fails almost immediately in the call to C_s_to_rp, as that code returns nonsense. Looking at the code itself isn't terribly helpful, and there don't seem to be any hard limits coded anywhere.

Realtime LDAP passwords
Hello, all. I'm afraid I've been dropped into the deep end even though I am an Asterisk novice. I've set up a few tiny, tiny systems in the past and have now been asked to pull together Asterisk, FreePBX, Kamailio, RTPProxy, and Fedora Directory Server into a VoIP service. After googling and reading for most of the last 24 hours, I finally have my head around the components and how

Printing in Wine
Hello, I am using Wine to run Tally, an accounting package. Over the network, we are able to print documents using OpenOffice as we have CUPS installed. I read the DOCS related to printing in Wine and they say, I dont need to configure wine if I have CUPS installed. But whenever I issue the print command in tally, nothing happens. I checked out /var/log/messages but didn't find any

strverscmp, scandir, alphasort and versionsort
Hello, These are implementations of strverscmp, scandir, alphasort and versionsort, and some test cases for them. I know these aren't in POSIX, but they're useful, nonetheless, and someone else might be interested in them. [PATCH v2] drm/nouveau: add a LED driver for the NVIDIA logo
We received a donation of a Titan which has this useless feature allowing users to control the brightness of the LED behind the logo of NVIDIA. In the true spirit of open source, let's expose that to the users of very expensive cards! This patch hooks up this LED/PWM to the LED subsystem which allows blinking it in sync with cpu/disk/network/whatever activity (heartbeat is quite nice!). Users

[LLVMdev] ValueMapper question: no type mapping for GlobalValue?
So it looks like the verifier doesn't catch this condition - I think it should. The attached program reproduces the problem - verification succeeds, but the linker fails with a type assertion. BTW, if no one has the bandwidth to work on this I'm willing to attempt a fix, assuming that you agree that the verifier should discover this condition. Michael Muller wrote: > >
