The developers on the ogg-dev list are defining the Ogg/PCM format and on Sursound list there discussion about Amisonics file formats recently. I have not been able to follow both disussion, just skimmed through. But maybe you can work together to bring Ambisonics into Ogg/PCM? :) http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggPCM

lib64
Hi, I'm told libs should install in lib64 (as opposed to lib) when on x86_64 (and, looking on the web, a few more archs). I looked at a few libs (libogg, liboggz, libtheora), and none of them do this either. ...reat Satan duplicating the effort and splitting the community is a matter of grave concern for all. M$ will underbid any serious attempt at a mass migration to open source with hefty rebates, and there's little we can do against that except strive to be a serious alternative and not a bunch of fundamentalists picking at articles of faith. What's wrong about admitting that the u-g-o octals were too narrow a view of security and accepting that a businessperson may be a visionary in her own right by just thinking a little out of *nix box? For open source to have a chance, it needs to be ahead of the...

wav to flac corruption

If I import one of the wav files into Audacity then export them as "16 bit PCM" then they encode to flac and play fine. The files bitrates are currently at 24. If I export them from audacity as a 24 or 32 (anything higher than 16), flac fails on me. With a bitrate of 24, the
