drive space for voice mail
Drive space for voice mail
I've looked in the dimensioning information on voip-info.org but can't
find any hard information on the amount of drive space the various codecs
use. Since we would eventually like to support web-based voice mail
retrieval, I'm thinking of the wav format. I've specced out 2x160GB drives
in RAID-1 (software RAID via Linux) for the box. It will be

Help, please!
So well I'm new to this whole Wine thing and I need some help...
There's a program that requires me to well, insert a password, but once I do this it MUST open some type of internet browser to confirm the registration and be able to use the program to its fullest extent.
So, does anyone know how to basically, make this application able to interact with internet explorer or something XD?
I'd REALLY appreciate your help, thanks!!!

trouble with plotting
...e I will get the following when trying to plot....
Error in clearpage() : Error: X11 cannot allocate additional graphics
colors.
Consider using X11 with colortype="pseudo.cube" or "gray".
What do I need to do to get rid of this so that I can use the graphics
libraries to their fullest potential. Currently, I can't get lattice() to
work.
Thanks,
Jeff.

Puppet File checksums directories
I''m not sure if this is the way things are supposed to happen but, when I
specify a directory with recursion and md5 checksums, the directory itself
is checksummed and assumed to have changed.
Of course, if anything in the directory changed, the directory checksum will
change.
What I would like to do is to manipulate all of the files in a directory,
but ignore the directory itself.

SER/OpenSER, I Finally Get It.............General Observation
...through the years, with a good idea on
what a SIP proxy is and what Asterisk is and IS NOT. I never really took
the time to lab-up SER and test drive it to see what advantages might be
gained from using it to front-end an Asterisk Cluster. In fact, I pride
myself on using Asterisk (alone) to its fullest ability to accomplish my
clustering and scaling goals. As an ITSP, adding customers, means racking
and stacking more Asterisk servers and gel them into the Cluster, no
problem. Adding PSTN connectivity would mean the same for the most
part..............here lays the conundrum.
I didn't have...

If yes, can you please also provide some details of the Wintel (Windows

the JSpeex encoding/decoding specs used?
Thanks.

reshape2: a reboot of the reshape package
...pe2` to avoid causing problems for existing users.
Based on user feedback I may reintroduce some of these features.
What's new in `reshape2`:
* considerably faster and more memory efficient thanks to a much better
underlying algorithm that uses the power and speed of subsetting to the
fullest extent, in most cases only making a single copy of the data.
* cast is replaced by two functions depending on the output type: `dcast`
produces data frames, and `acast` produces matrices/arrays.
* multidimensional margins are now possible: `grand_row` and `grand_col` have

Microphone Problems
...l. For example, Rosetta Stone 3.4.5, although able to detect my microphone, is not able to pick up my voice. My microphone works fine in native Linux apps (GNOME voice recorder, Audacity, etc.)
Any suggestions on how I might fix this? I would REALLY like to be able to use Rosetta Stone to it's fullest extent without having to boot into my Windows partition! :P
thanks!

union_lookup panic ...
.... but ...
From what I can tell, though, the "trigger" for the panic is pkg_delete
... if I build a jail'd environment, using unionfs, SSH into it, make
install a port and then pkg_delete it, it will cause the panic ...
The machine that it happened to recently isn't the "fullest" one we
have, nor the busiest ... the 'busiest' one we have just went 31 days up,
with all the inherient create/delete/moves/etc of files ...
Even on a test box I tried a little while back, where the only activity
on the box was my doing the pkg_delete, it panic's, so it seems t...

OpenSSH password expiration
Hi, we are running into an issue with changing expired passwords through
SSH connection. We always have to tell our users to use telnet to change
the password. We want to completely shutdown telnet on all of our systems,
because of this issue we are not able to shut it down. Is there a known
issue with OpenSSH, or am I just missing some configuration.
Thanks in advance for your help.
