i2c bus access
Hi, I have a particular situation that syslinux could access a i2c bus to get some data from specific device that my hardware has. Based on these data, syslinux should or not to boot. It's feasible to create some i2c infraestructure to syslinux access i2c bus? It could be used to something more than only my needs? I digged in gpxe code and it has code to provide some i2c functionality.

Asterisk on a dialup connection?
...My setup in the US is working already with a broadband cable connection. I am thinking that dialup may not work because of the bandwidth required unless I can use the onbord G723.1 codecs on the quicknet cards. Ohphone allows this through h323 I think but I want an asterisk solution. If not a fullblown asterisk install on my brothers machine, maybe set it up as a h323 client to mine. I am currently working on setting up one of my lan machines with ohphone to connect to my asterisk box to call FWD and such. Is this possible? Somehow asterisk must translate the codecs from whatever SIP uses to...

Really, you should add a preemptive scheduler and protected-mode virtual memory management, and then we can do away with the need for the whole "Lin...

Why not use linux as bootloader? Booting a (rather small) linux kernel with I?C support and either shutting down or kexecing another linux kernel (plus ramdisk) might be the solution. All one needs is a busybox (statically linked against uClibc), the kernel with needed disk a...

Mongrel 1.1
Hello Mongrels, Mongrel 1.1 is out with fullblown JRuby support, some reorganization, and some bugfixes. Also, Mongrel_cluster has been updated to 1.0.4. Go subscribe to the all-new news feed, because we probably won''t announce to the list anymore: http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/rss.xml Thanks Evan, and the Mongrel Team -- Evan Weaver...

Firefox JS Console unusable
Hello, I wonder if somebody else is experiencing the same problem : Firefox''s Javascript console is unusable with RJS or Scriptaculous libraries. Every time I want to use it for debugging purpose (evaluating $ or $$ calls for example) I get a message stating that a script on the page must be stopped. If I stop that ''script'' (which script it is ?) the console is

[RFC] klibc add minimal mntent.h
belows patch is a first step towards a mntent.h we'll need it anyways later for mdadm support. it allows to compile util-linux-ng mount against klibc. due to the missing features there is a severe size difference: text data bss dec hex filename 1507 0 40 1547 60b /usr/lib/klibc/bin/mount 58526 2544 4552 65622 10056

Conditional kernel selection based on CPUID/DMI info
I'm network booting various systems via PXE using pxelinux, and I would like to select a specific kernel and kernel options based on the type of CPU and/or type of system (PAE, 64bit, vmx, etc.). I see that some of this capability is present (e.g. Erwan Velu's nice cpuid/dmi/pci code), but the infrastructure to make use of this information in the config file is missing. It looks like it

Get a list of installed commands
I'm pretty new to R, but have experience with other languages, both OO and scripting. I'm trying to add support for R to my text editor of choice and to do this I need a list of installed commands I can markup with XML. I'd then simply feed in the marked up list into my text editor's library and I'm off. I've done this in Stata before using the following command: getcmds

[LLVMdev] Files to lib/System/Win32
...ndidate for the first step of many. The MSYS shell understands BASH scripts, so the configuration and compilation of llvm seems to work out-of-the-box without further modifications, although I've experienced some caveats. And this is one of the small steps we/I have to make before getting a fullblown Win32 port. In the end of the Win32 port we should have a completely self contained installation of LLVM environment, before windows users will jump on the wagon. Only time will tell if LLVM tools compiles with VC. But, if you guys think it is a bad idea to start a win32 port in small steps f...
