Memory corruption when testing nbdkit python plugin with nbd-tester-client?
...her errors happen before the segfault, suggesting that some memory
corruption is underway.
AFAICS a pure python plugin should not be able to cause memory corruption.
Examples of nbdkit logs for running "make check" or subsets of it from
nbd against nbdkit:
nbdkit -n -f python script=ssd-ftl-wearleveling.py disksize=52428800
nbdkit: python[6]: error: ssd-ftl-wearleveling.py: callback failed: close
nbdkit: python[7]: error: invalid flush request: expecting offset and
length == 0
nbdkit: python[7]: error: write reply: Connection reset by peer

Rich.

will tell you how many write cycles the flash can support. This is
where you will see numbers such as 10,000 write cycles, all the way
down to 1,000 write depending on the quality of the flash used.

thing to remember here is that not all parts of the storage device
will get used to the same amount. Some files will rarely change once
they are installed on the device; others will change a huge amount.
So a good Flash Translation Layer will spread out the wear so that if

I’m not saying it’s a good idea to have all those tiers, it’s just a way to compare JIT levels. The point is, you are a tier higher than B3.

[PATCH] Obsolete WebKit Calling Convention
Hi @ll,
I would like to obsolete and completely remove the WebKit Calling Convention. The CC was originally added for FTL and there are no other users I am aware off. Since WebKit moved away from LLVM a while ago I don’t see the need to keep the dead code around anymore.
Please let me know if anyone happens to use this calling convention or has any objection with removing it.
Thanks
Cheers,
Juergen

ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
I think this is really an attempt at user feedback, rather than user
discussion. But there's no such thing as a user-feedback mail list.
Nevertheless, others may find this pertinent: why doesn't mke2fs
handle USB's competently? And if it does, why doesn't it reassure me
so? And how can I handle a linux-formatted USB flash drive in the
absence of my system giving me any guidance?

Slides from the LLVM devroom at FOSDEM last weekend are [now available

with the recording of the talks so videos will not be available.
JavaScriptCore's [FTL JIT](https://trac.webkit.org/wiki/FTLJIT) is moving away
from using LLVM as its backend, towards [B3 (Bare Bones
Backend)](https://webkit.org/docs/b3/). This includes its own [SSA
IR](https://webkit.org/docs/b3/intermediate-representation.html),
optimisations, and instruction selection backend.

I know I can create a new group, add users to the new group, use the new
group in an ACL, delete the old principal from the ACL, then finally delete
the old group, but that's a fair bit of work.
