Wildcard X100P or TDM400P?
I'm looking to add a single FXO port to my Asterisk box. It looks like my options are a Digium Wildcard X100P off eBay for $6.99, or a Wildcard TDM400P with an FXO Module from Digium for $125. Can anyone explain the tradeoffs (other than the ability to put 4 FXO/FSO modules on the TDM400P). What about RTC for the system - I know the TDM400P provides it. Does the X100P? Thanks!

How much CPU power needed for asterisk
...sk on an itx motherboard in a tiny case. The ITX motherboards top out around 400Mhz PII (in terms of power relative to a desktop). How much CPU would I need for an office of 50 people? How much disk storage for voicemail + OS? (typical / average) The system will have no PCI cards (no Digium FSO/FXO cards) - everything over the LAN connection. Paging systems?
You need more than an ATA. You need something with an FSO and FXO. I've used Linksys/SPA3102-3.3.6 and been happy with it. FXO answering quicker
Hi, I don't know if this is possible - but can I set up asterisk to answer the FSO line after one or two rings rather than four? I haven't (yet) found a configuration variable to let me do this... [fdo] Global architecture ?
Hello, I'm working on an Openmoko FreeRunner where I'm supposed to use the GPS module. I just have a question about the global architecture concerning the different layers from the hardware to the final GPS application. I'm using ogpsd, fso-gpsd, etc. What is "Gypsy" then ? Is this scheme correct : hardware <-> ogpsd (= gypsy) <-> fso-gpsd <-> tangoGPS Thanks a lot, Vincent

[LLVMdev] Heads up! Working on bugpoint
David, Please find attached 2 diffs. Please notice that RemoteRunSafely.sh may get moved to the test suite sub-tree. We have targeted different areas fso far which is great. What's your plan? I have been thinking of using -run-custom and -safe-run-custom argumants for the cross-tools to keep bugpoint out of knowing any target details ans such. Best regards, Viktor ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Goodwin" <david_goodwi...

[LLVMdev] Heads up! Working on bugpoint
Hi Viktor, I did not see your patches, can you send them again. Here are the changes that I have made that seem to get remote execution working for bugpoint. I have not yet changed the test system to provide -remote- client and -remote-port. David -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... IP Phone recommendations?
...st starting out. My initial goal is to just to get onto Asterisk and get it working. I'll worry about cool stuff later. Our integration and migration plan is as follows: If anyone has some suggestions or pointers I'd love to hear them. 1. Test and evaluate Asterisk with TDM400 with 1 FXO/FSO port each. 2. Configure Asterisk to be the primary PBX and slave the Nortel Meridian system to it using a second TDM400. This avoids immediate replacement of all handsets. Will allow immediate access to features such as Voicemail. 3. Overtime, upgrade desk phones to IP phones. When all phones ar...

Handytone-488 FXO - PSTN in calls to Asterisk, sip.conf?
...Apple Airport router, meaning the WAN port on the 488 is connected to the Asterisk server. The LAN port on the 488 is not used. I've found the router part of the unit to be VERY finicky. Questions: 1. Does the FXO port need to register with Asterisk? 2. Does Asterisk need to register with the FSO port? (I have no experience with registering, though I did get an incoming call through IPkall through to FWD to XLite) 3. With regard to parenthetic comment - I was unable to get that incoming call (or register with FWD) to work while behind my Airport router. Could this router also be blocking th...

Choosing an FXO card
Folks, I'm looking at buying an FXO card for my home Asterisk setup. The question I have is, should I got for a the Digium Wildcard FXO or settle for the winmodem that Digium sell? I have spoken to the UK distributor and they only sell the Wildcard. They said that the quality of the modem was questionable. Does anyone have any experience of this? Is the modem noticeably different

TDM400 (TDM11B) configuration
I have fixed this before, but I cannot for the life of me remember how I did it. I have a TDM400P with one fxo module and one fxs module. I setup Asterisk @Home and everything works fine, except when I try and call out. If I call out with a SIP phone it calls the zap extension and not the pstn line? If I take the zap extension offhook and call with the SIP phone it dials out the pstn line

Paging systems?
Does anyone have an (overhead) paging system that they like that works with SIP? We've got a client with an old paging system that (supposedly) just takes an rj11 POTS connection, but when we put an SPA Cisco adapter on it, it doesn't auto-answer the call, so paging never happens.
