dbcheck - least one mandatory attribute ('fromServer') on entry wasn't specified
Ive recently inherited an old samba installation which was originally migrated from a windows 2003 server. It was running samba 4.2.13 so i upgraded to 4.6.4. All is well and everything appears to be working correctly but get the following error error when running the db check tool: Fix replPropertyMetaData on CN=f37883ec-90f7-4ac3-b478-00a266e31f83,CN=NTDS

Hi All, On my two-DC setup (dc00 and dc01 - Used to be a 4-Dc setup but 02 and 03 are gone), I've noticed the following errors which I am unable to fix.. Any hints? * Basic dbcheck is clean. [root at dc00 ~]# samba-tool dbcheck Checking 327 objects Checked 327 objects (0 errors) * Cross-NCS shows two errors related to a de-comissionned DC (dc02) and cannot auto-fix this.. How do I fix

[Patches] for dbcheck (Re: [Patches] AD Database corruption after upgrade from <= 4.6 to 4.7 (bug #13228))
Hi Stefan I am also one of the Sernet customer. Can you guide me how to run the patch to fix the bug. I am running 2 DC's Sernet Samba 4.7.4 with 2 RODC's running Sernet Samba 4.7.4. Whenever I run samba-tool drs replicate --fix --yes command on the DC it shows the below errors which cannot be fixed: Failed to remove deleted DN attribute fromServer : (65, "objectclass_attrs: at

[Patches] AD Database corruption after upgrade from <= 4.6 to 4.7 (bug #13228)
Hi, here're patches to avoid a database corruption with linked attributes, e.g. member/memberOf. See https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13228 As a temporary solution admins can add "server services = -kcc" to the global section of smb.conf. Also DO NOT repair the following errors with samba-tool dbcheck! "Remove duplicate links in attribute" and "ERROR:

Replication and KCC problems on upgrade
Hello all- I am trying to upgrade a old domain to a newer version. The old DCs are a custom compiled version of Samba, so instead of upgrading the DCs in place, the plan is to upgrade by joining new DCs to the domain, replicating data and then shutting down the old ones after transferring the FSMO roles. I had the new DC (dc3, version 4.9.4-12) replicating to the other DCs (dc0, versions

hi, I have this DC in aws to fulfill the authentication need of our moodle. # samba -V Version 4.17.7-Debian DNS with SAMBA_INTERNAL The replication of the users and groups happens correctly. Some errors in running samba_dnsupdate, but it is ok anyway. When I ran the command samba-tool dbcheck, I got the return below. # samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --reset-well-known-acls --fix --yes

kcc triggered every 5 minutes?
Hi all, some background : ===== recently I had to cleanup a network of 1 DC on main office and 5 RODC on remote location. On one RODC for some reason there where still ntdsConnection objects with fromServer attribute pointing to servers GUID that do not exists anymore. Those fromServer attribute with spurious guid can be seen with ldbsearch but cannot be seen through ldap connexion, so I

While this should work, neither is this particularly harmful. ?Links to objects that don't exist are ignored at runtime. Replication Error
Hi Denis Thanks for your response without your crystal ball. I have increased the log level =9 dns:0 on both the servers. It replicates successfully by manually running the command samba-tool drs replicate SERVER2 SERVER1 dc=iumnet,dc=edu,dc=na --full-sync but it is still failing when I check from the samba-tool drs showrepl Also I run samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix on both the servers

[Samba 4.5] Very slow LDAP Queries (almost unusable), performance tunning ?
Are use using zarafaAccount=1 withing the search filters? I use this things like this : (&(objectClass=person)(zarafaAccount=1)(|(mail=%s)(otherMailbox=%s))) Or for groups. (&(objectclass=group)(zarafaAccount=1)(|(mail=%s)(otherMailbox=%s))) That helps a lot. ! If you switch to kopano beware to change the SCHEMA and filters zarafaAccount changed to kopanoAccount Greetz. [Samba 4.5] Very slow LDAP Queries (almost unusable), performance tunning ?
Dear users, We are facing to a big latency issue regarding the LDAP Server (both encrypted & plain). We have a Zarafa mail server which makes a lot of queries and puts a samba process to 100% usage. This latency makes the mail server unusable.. The mail server was previously on OpenLDAP and there was not performance issues. A simple LDAP query can take up to 25 sec to perform !! We

[Samba 4.5] Very slow LDAP Queries (almost unusable), performance tunning ?
Can you tell more about your setup? Is zarafa and samba on the same server for example. Which MTA are you using postfix/exim?   My top was about 150 users, and all my printers are connected also so about 200 devices do ldap searches. but my setup is split over 10+ servers ( 2 are AD DC )   So best is to tell what you can about your setup, anonimize if needed.   Greetz,   Louis
