deliver and qmail
...ately, I really don't want to do a lookup of the home dir if I
don't have to. I'd rather specify the stuff in the .qmail-user file for
that particular user to avoid the extra step.
In looking in the wiki, it says for users without a lookup to use
HOME=/path/to/user/homedir deliver -f $FROM_ENVELOPE
but I can't do that in the .qmail file, which would normally look something like this :
|/var/qmail/bin/preline -f /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver -f ${SENDER:-<>}
I would rather not do the master authentication socket as described for obvious reasons.
is there a format in the .q...

lda and home directory
...the email address as username. The only measure
of success I can report is that in some configurations mail delivers
to /home/mail//.
Where exactly is dovecot getting this value?
Side question: I note in places throughout the wiki and internet
variables such as $EXT, $USER, $DEST_USERNAME, and $FROM_ENVELOPE are
used. I can find no documentation, beyond my own common sense anyway,
to explain how/when these variables are expanded, and what I do find
doesn't seem consistent to me. For example, on the CheckPassword page,
$USER is implied to expand to Username, which could contain the domain
or not....

Problem with ldap / quotas
Hi,
I am trying to enable per user quotas, but I get the following error:
Feb 18 23:59:20 vmail dovecot: auth(default):
ldap(tester,10.10.100.150): ldap_search((uid=tester)) failed: No such object
It seems as if ldapsearch for username/password won't work with my new
settings, but I can't find why.
I run Dovecot v1.2.11 on CentOS 5.5.
I changed my working dovecot.conf (see

dovecot-lda (2.1.12) segfaults
We uograded our dovecot from version 2.1.10 -> 2.10.12, but within
the first hour of use, dovecot-lda would segfault during delivery.
This left a lock file lying around causing the user's mail readers to
hang; much hilarity ensues. All further deliveries to the same user
will result in a crash.
The only thing that fixes this condition is to blow away the user's
INBOX cache index.

Last Login Plugin Help
Hi,
I'm configuring Last_Login plugin whith Mysql back end and all works fine.
I just wonder to track besides time_stamp, user and domain, the remote
IP and proto (imap or pop3)
I tried in dovecot.conf:

??? last_login_dict = proxy::lastlogin
??? last_login_key = last-login/%u/%d/%r
}
