...ecot, but still it didn't get me new mail. I finally removed dovecot.* in my Maildir folder and restarted dovecot. I'm using 1.0alpha4. Now I'm still not able to get the new mail, and I get the following messages: Nov 20 20:49:59 cubex-wwc-edu dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=<frohro>, method=plain, rip=172.17.128.191, lip=10.7.3.11 Nov 20 20:49:59 cubex-wwc-edu dovecot: imap(frohro): Effective uid=501, gid=20 Nov 20 20:49:59 cubex-wwc-edu dovecot: imap(frohro): maildir: data=/Users/frohro/Maildir Nov 20 20:49:59 cubex-wwc-edu dovecot: imap(frohro): maildir: root=/Users/...

Lost transaction log file /Users/frohro/Maildir/dovecot.index.log.2 seq 1
Hi, I got a bunch of the following errors: Lost transaction log file /Users/frohro/Maildir/dovecot.index.log.2 seq 1 when I was trying to apply some rules to move messages from one mailbox to another. Things hadn't been working well and I had recently upgraded to alpha 2, so I moved all dovecot* files in my Maildir/. Things then seem to work better. Rob -- Rob Fr...

Timeout while waiting for lock....
...t move messages around. In comparing this to dovecot on my OS X box, Cyrus loads the messages significantly faster. I think there are some problems with my dovecot setup though. My mail.log is filled with this type of thing. Trying to compile again
I'm currently running a pre 1.0 version of dovecot. Months back I tried to compile beta6, couldn't due to some mysql client libraries issues, and gave up. I'm now trying again with rc6. This is on a fedora core2 box, with postfix 2.3 and mysql 5.0. The error I'm getting when I run make is below. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! I'd really like to get up to

How do I increase the fd limit on OS X?
Hi All, I just upgraded to the new 1.1rc5 from 1.0 that I had been using and it advised me to increase the file descriptor limit. I'm not sure how to do this. There is a command built into tcsh that allows me to do this called limit, but sudo limit 4224 doesn't work, and usually dovecot is started from the rc.local file if I recall right, and I'm not sure how to set this up from

login_process_per_user referred to but not present in dovecot.conf?
Hi, I find login_process_per_user referred to in the comments in dovecot.conf, but never set. Is this a typo and should it be login_process_per_connection or what? Thanks, Rob

Moving messages takes a longgggggg..... time. (Timeouts?) dovecot.conf help?
Hi, I'm trying to get dovecot set up better. I am using 1.0alpha3. It takes a long long time to move messages for some reason. It seems it may be a timeout thing, because neither the client or server is using any cpu time or disk i/o or network to speak of. (To move maybe 400 messages, it seems to take maybe half an hour, maybe longer.) With alpha 2 I was getting messages from
