Custom Binary Format Challenges
Hello, I hope you are all doing well and thanks in advance. I need to program a transformation of a set of llvm bitcode to have some various techniques woven in. In particular, I need to resolve a given computed target address to one of several in the same way that the function of a dynamic library is resolved, but I need this resolution to happen in the binary target of my choice where I tell

Windows member servers have lost their minds...
Hello all... I'm having a serious problem after a Samba upgrade from 3.0.20 to 3.0.23c. A bit of background: I have a network with a Samba PDC and several member servers running Windows 2000 server. I upgraded my PDC from Mandrivalinux to RHEL5, which (obviously) included a Samba upgrade. I renamed the old server to a different hostname and IP address, and disabled Samba on it, then I copied

IMHO, the original poster had the right idea here. While fdmount can only be executed by group floppy, if there IS an exploit in fdmount, then getting group floppy is the same as getting root. When you''re trying to build a fairly tight machine you''re not just pro...

Guest-networking: Two subnets = Guests cannot connect to the other subnet
Hello list, We have KVM setup using libvirt (0.9.0) as configuration device on a Debian Squeeze Host. Networking is done in routed bridge mode and we have two different subnets, as well as one main ip. Subnets get routed to the main ip (this is done by our provider). Network on hosts are done like this: <network> <name>subnet_1</name>

Can't open shares using netbios names
I need a pointer to what Fine Manual I should go read to set up my netbios name resolution, because all my attempts to use netbios names are being resolved against dns ... I have one subnet (192.168.2/24), with several Fedora 11 machines and several Windows XP machines, and a couple SMB/CIFS NAS units which also share printers. No domain, it's all just a workgroup. The WinXP machines
