Mixed effects model with a phylogenetic tree/ distance matrix as a random effect
...argument while my tree is neither (and for various reasons I cannot construct one or coerce mine to be a rooted, ultrametric tree). Is there any way around it? I'd appreciate mostly a solution to problem 1. Multiple commands per priority
Hi everybody. I have been searching and trying for an answer, but no luck, so here I go.. Is there anyway to execute multiple commands on a single priority in extensions.conf? eg: exten => X.,1,Dial(SIP/1111) & somefunction(${EXTEN}) I need the dial command to dial internal extensions, and the "somefunction" to kick of our own outgoing system for redirection to outside lines;

[LLVMdev] LLVM on MinGW

Seriously, get a really good book on doing sysadmin work. 10 years ago, I was recommending O'Reilly's one, "Essential Systems Administration", by Aeleen Frisch. It saved my butt, I assure you, 21 years ago, when I had the same thing happen. > >> Each partition is formatted as a specific type >> of filesystem. How to join Linux to Win2k PDC
Hi All, Sorry for asking the most repeated question again. Just because I could not get a proper guide for doing this. Can anyone please tell me how to make a linux system running samba server and client to connect ( log on to ) to a windows2000 based domain and act as a part of it ? Any useful link also would do. thanks in advance :-) senthil -------------- next part -------------- HTML

REGISTER headers changed
Can someone help me with upgrading to the lastest version. I am using the same sip.conf file, but the headers have changed and registration fails. Has something change in the conf file that would cause this? Notice 1.2.5 has no Authoization at all... [LLVMdev] LLVM on MinGW
Hello, I'm trying to use LLVM on Windows, using the MinGW toolchain that comes with Cygwin (gcc -mno-cygwin, not the standalone msys package). Has anyone successfully built LLVM from sources with this toolchain? The ./configure scripts automatically detects a Cygwin environment. I've spent some time trying to let it know that it should compile for MinGW. FWIW, here's what I've

Samba and WINS
...spondance between Netbios names and DNS names f) DHCP currently tells the Windows machines the WINS server. Problem: If WINS server goes down, every Windows NT workstation can not mount anything from Samba. This is bad for a 4 campus network. My understanding (based on Samba docs & AEleen Frisch's book): a) Each Windows machine will register its Netbios name - with WINS server - if not there could use broadcast. b) NT workstations can be told to resolve Netbios names through DNS (ie through TCP Properties -> WINS). c) The client Netbios names are not important. Possible Soluti...

Xen 3.0.2 FC5 Reboots
I just upgraded my Fedora Core 5 Xen server from 1 gig or memory to 2. When I start the machine it begins to load the Xen kernel and then reboots. I can boot the machine on straight FC5 without Xen. If I put it back to 1 gig of memory Xen will boot fine. I looked in the xend.log and didn''t see anything. I do see some kind of page_fault error on the screen before the server reboots.

Quantile Regression Packages
.../research/goniolatry/gon.html and forthcoming in JRSS(B). There are options to constrain the qss components to be monotone and/or convex/concave for univariate components, and to be convex/concave for bivariate components. Fitting is done by new sparse implementations of the dense interior point (Frisch-Newton) algorithms already available in the package quantreg. The new package "nprq" thus supplements the existing packages "quantreg" and "nlrq" that can be used for linear and nonlinear parametric quantile regression fitting respectively. In particular, "nprq&...

FWIW - share name length limit
I've just discovered a limitation in share name lengths. It may be in the docs, but I didn't see it and it's not mentioned in the Frisch book on NT admin. I tried in my smb.conf to create a share called "public_ftp_files". The share was created OK, but when I looked for it with the NT4 (sp4) Network Neighborhood, the name had been truncated to "public_ftp_fi" (13 characters) and could not be opened (a 'not f...

Exporting samba mount via NFS
Perhaps I'm trying to do something that is not allowed, but I have found no such restriction in the documentation. To limit the contact of my Linux boxes with the "products of Bill & Co.", I have mounted a Windows share on my Linux server. When I try to export that same share from the Linux server (as a plain old NFS volume), it mounts without error, but the mountpoint

In vegan package: running adonis (or similar) on a distance matrix
Hi, Using Vegan package I was wondering if there's a way to use a distance matrix as an input for adonis (or any of the other similar hypothesis testing functions) instead of the usual species by sample table. Working in the field of microbial ecology, what I'm trying to do is to overcome the problem of having to use discrete units such as species or OTUs, which are problematic in

Hi all, As most probably know by now, I''ll be in London and Brussels for the next week, starting Tuesday (well, I leave Tuesday but don''t arrive until Wednesday). That means I''ll hopefully get to meet more of you (I''m giving talks in London Thursday night and in Brussels, probably on Sunday morning), but it also means I''ll have limited access
