hi
how do you pass vars to rpmbuild for definition? eg
rpmbuild --define \'"${_definition2}"\'
I've been fiddling with ways to escape, but none is fricking working..
I mean, rpmbuild rushes to work(no errors nor failure) so if you try
just the command line do not believe it, because later as it executes
%if you will see process does not see these definitions.

The sameNetscape Profile on every machine
this is how i do it...
after installing netscape on an nt workstation, set these registry keys:
\Registry\Machine\SOFTWARE\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Users
=
CurrentUser = Default
Default
DirRoot = h:\.netscape
UserName =
EmailAddr =
then add something like this to your nt workstation logon script:
rem copy netscape preferences file if it doesn't exist.

nobody is perfect!
Hi!
I have a strange problem that some, sometimes and randomly Windows
Clients connect to our Samba 2.0.7 Server (security=user; all users are
Samba and NIS users) as the guest account (user nobody).
This is not that strange, but the logfiles tell me:

Horizontal Y axis title above the y axis
Dear R-help team
I have tried hard to turn my Y axis 90 degrees, so that it is written horizontally, and placing it above the Y axis, but I did not succeed.
I have tried to adapt the following functions:
- plot()
- title()
- mtext()
And some more that did not prove to be useful (e.g. text() etc).
The closest I got to my aim was with mtext():

Tricking a process in WINE to think its on a certain IP address
I want to make a process believe that its machine's IP address is whatever IP
address I specify. Do you have any ideas on how to do this? I have been trying
to go through the WINE source code, and have been looking in socket.c and
iphlpapi_main.c, but I don't see any small number of places to change.
I have set up a bunch of virtual IP addresses, all associated with my machine.

New package stepR: fitting step-functions
Dear R users,
It is my pleasure to announce the availability of package stepR (1.0-2)
on CRAN.
The main purpose of the package is to fit piecewise constant functions
(a.k.a. step-functions or block signals) to serial data in a fully
data-driven manner under certain (Gaussian or non-Gaussian)
distributional assumptions.
It mainly implements the algorithms described in the references below -

Segmentation Fault
Hi all,
I've googled to the end of the earth, and I haven't gotten any closer to
solving this.
I was running wine 0.9.11 under SuSE Linux 10.1, which worked fine. Since I
was not able to install ye olde Day-Timer Addressbook 2000, I decided to
download the suse rpm for wine 0.9.16 thinking that some bug had worked out
and the program would run.
Wine 9.16 gives me nothing more than a

Feature proposal regarding rsync client's progress output
Hi there!
When displaying intra-file progress, recent versions of rsync use \r as
line-seperator. While i like that very much on terminals, it gets me into
trouble with scripts evaluating that progress-output. Especially with
normal perl-IO you can use only one input record seperator. And using
\r for that complicates evaluating inter-file progress.
I'd like to ask if there is a possibility

Sieve: Mailbox doesn't exist
I have just set up a mail server on Ubuntu, using Postfix and Dovecot 2.0.19.
It works well but I can't get Sieve working. I always get the error that the
target mailbox doesn't exist. In fact it doesn't but isn'r Dovecot supposed to
create it?
Here is my doveconf -n:
# 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
# OS: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Howto install multiple printers using the same driver for Samba on Linux?
Hi, I would like to install multiple printers (about a hundred) to my Linux site.
I have created a smb.conf-file with all the printers (and also a printers.conf as I use CUPS for printing).
The printers are e.g. HP LJ 4050 and I do not want to install every one the manual way (I use NT for that).
When I manually installs a printer e.g. HP LJ 4050 with driver within lj345.exe from microsoft, the
