How to set frequncy?
Hi Boss,
i have data of one stock price from 2 January 2006 to 31 December 2012.But each year had different markert day,
I want to calculate daily returns and display the series,so how to set about the frequency? If I set frequency=260,is that OK?

Identify period length of time series automatically?

Hi
I have 10.000 simulations for a sensitivity analysis. I have done a few
sensitivity analysis for different response variables already,
but now, as most of the simulations (if not all) show some cyclic
behaviour, see how the independent input parameter influence the
frequency of the cyclic changes and "how cyclic" they actually are.
So

green<-c(85,130,110,107,70,45,30)
yellow<-c(26,41,51,35,36,16,11)

Pearson's Chi-squared test
data: rbind(verdi, gialli)
X-squared = 6.2672, df = 6, p-value = 0.3939
That's fine. Now I want to tell chisq.test that I have my a priori expected
frequncies:
prob.green<-rep(3/4,7)
prob.yellow<-rep(1/4,7)
chisq.test(rbind(green,yellow), p=rbind(prob.green,prob.yellow))
Pearson's Chi-squared test
data: rbind(verdi, gialli)
X-squared = 6.2672, df = 6, p-value = 0.3939
Exactly the same thing as before! How do I tell chisq.test to take my...

empty cells in ftable
hello
when I enter:
ftable(xtabs(cnt~jeo+slp+pcurv+asp+hey),data=dt)
it gives a frequncy table. But some cells are empty.
like this:
19 2 72 0
3 68 0
4 99 0
5 110 0
6 97 0

Bit allocation dependetnt on masking threshold and floor1 inverse dB lookup table
Hi,
We are two students doing project with Vorbis audio compression for our B.Sc
studies.
We have two questions:
Our first question related to the floor1 inverse dB lookup table.
As we understood the floor values encoded as offset integers (Y) from 1 to
256 and then used as index in the floor1_inverse_dB_table to get an
encoded value. This value (denoted as X) is inverse of linear frequency so

clock, centos 4 and dual core?
Hi,
I have a dual core athlon server and it is gaining 1 day every 2 days
w/o time sync. Even with ntpd running, the time is not under control.
I must put a very frequent cronjob of 'ntpdate' to keep the time under
control. This creates big problems since winbind eventually stops
working so my users can't access their data.
Any ideas?

Text Summarization
Is there a text mining/ NLP package in R that could do text summarization?
For example, take a huge text as input and provide a summary of the text.
In package tm, summarization is defined more as high frequency terms which
is not what I want. I actually want a summary of what is present in the huge
volume of text.
Any help on a R package would be helpful. Thank you.

[ANNOUNCE] sch_ooo - Out-of-order packet queue discipline
Hello!
I like to announce sch_ooo, a new queue discipline that, attached to a
class (or a device, as root) reorder the packets that pass by delaying
some.
Example:
tc qdisc add dev eth0 root ooo limit 100 gap 4 wait 1100
This queue will create a pfifo with limit 100 and will delay
every 4th packet with 1100ms.
An stream of 6 packets like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6, generated by
ping will be reordered

HTB and PRIO qdiscs introducing extra latency when output interface is saturated
Im using a Linux machine with standard pc hardware with 3 seperate PCI
network interfaces to operate as a DiffServ core router using Linux
traffic control. The machine is a P4 2.8ghz, 512mb RAM running fedora
core 3 with the 2.6.12.3 kernel. All links and network interfaces are
full duplex fast ethernet. IP forwarding is enabled in the kernel. All
hosts on the network have their time sychronised
