migration 1.1.7 to 2.0.6
I'm thinking of migrating from 1.1.7 (default RPM on SUSE 11.1) to 2.0.6
compiled from source using the default locations.
Any Gotchas to expect that are different to an upgrade from 1.2?
Any hints from moving from RPM to compiling from source and retaining the
default configuration under /usr/local?
TIA

non-standard boot floppys
I experimented with floppy sizes. Eg. I used FDFORMAT v1.8 to format a Disk
fdformat a: t82 s21 D10
(I even have a modified version of FDFORMAT that creates only 1 FAT to
save space, but I'm not using that.)
All the information is written nicely to the Boot-Record
http://home.freeuk.com/foxy2k/disk/disk3.htm
But SYSLINUX seems to ignore the information. While DOS boots fine from
these Disks SYSLINUX crashes. I looked a the source code and find no
place where this information is used ...
If it's not used by now, I would like to see support for that. I could
try to build...

I will admit that I'm not an expert on how signals interrupt system calls on all systems, but for what it's worth, the code looks good to me. Is...

Tiny suggestion for upslog.c
Hi
Thanks for a very nice piece of software.
I have a tiny suggestion for upslog.c.
It adds a signal handler for the USR1 signal, which simply triggers it
to abort the current sleep and log the requested now.
I find it useful because my upssched-cmd can then killall -USR1 upslog
to ensure that there is an entry in the log for brief power dropouts
which would otherwise be unrecorded (because

Installing ICQ2000b
...something isn't installed, and it needs
50comupd.exe from the M$ site. So I get that, installs OK. But ICQ2000b
installer _still_ complains it's not there.
Any ideas?

dovecot-1.1.3 failure to install
I'm using Fedora 9
I downloaded dovecot-1.1.3.tar.gz and extracted it. I then opened a

For most people, the usual:
./configure

sudo make install
but when I did them I got

set delay between pop3-logins
I'm using dovecot 1.1.8 on a raq4 server running centos 4.8
Is it possible to set a time delay between all dovecot pop3-logins? say 20 -
30 seconds for example?
My reason is I want to thwart the constant login attempts from hackers
hunting for an open relay. It's no good blocking the ip address because
every hack attempt comes in from a different address. I'm the only user on

Problems with recursive MPUT
I'm running samba 2.0.5a on a Sun Sparc 5 with Solaris 2.6 and trying to
use smbclient to copy an entire directory tree to a Windows NT 4.0 box.
I'm using the recurse command and can create first level directories but
I am unable to create new subdirectories in any of them.
For example I created the following directory structure on the Sun:
