-Auto-download Freesbie Net-installer on PC Bootup-
-Auto-download Freesbie Net-intaller on PC Bootup- then install peercast and ANYONE can easily stream Theora. FREE SPEACH, finally! Sounds like a good idea, no? I'd like to have a tiny OS on a USB flash memory drive that boots up with a network interface, collects information about available Freesbie versions using...

Forensics CD Toolkit for FreeBSD
Hi, I'd like to build a toolkit CD specifically for conducting forensics on FreeBSD. I'm not talking about a bootable CD but rather one that I could pop into a CD ROM drive and run trusted commands like ps, netstat, ls, etc., from. I'd like to build a CD that would work on -RELEASE versions of FreeBSD like 5.1 and -STABLE versions of FreeBSD too. Can anyone give me any pointers

7.1 new install halts on BTX error
...use 'ls /boot', I also get a backtrace. A new install of 7.1 on this hardware using a separate SCSI card and drive array also leads to a BTX backtrace. I have copied this below as the first (most repeatable) error and also included the other problems. A fresh install of 7.0 works fine. FreeSBIE 1.0, based on FreeBSD 5.3, also boots fine and will happily list the contents of the original drive's /boot in the loader, although refuses to load the kernel. The FreeBSD 7.1 install CD also boots and allows me to install over FTP. I have run into BTX problems on this machine before under...

FreeBSD-9.1 would not boot on pentium3 laptop
...he official CD would not boot either, so here I am. Flipping through the old CDs I have, the 7.3 hangs at boot similarly (after reporting loading the memory image and warning me about "dangerously low battery"). The 3.2-STABLE (September 1999) boots fine -- and goes into sysinstall. Freesbie-2.0.1 (which is based on FreeBSD-6.2) booted too. What happened between 6.x and 7.x? Any ideas? Thanks! -mi

Universal Packet Driver
I often boot DOS using MEMDISK and 33MB HD images for remote flashing. After my flash I need to activate the NIC and send a signal. Currently I use different packet drivers for different NICs, but this link below looks like a universal solution: http://www.emboot.com/products_UniversalPacketDriver.htm Does any thing else like this exist that is open source or freely available and freely

Reconstruct disklabel for UFS and GELI volumes
Hi, Somehow[TM] an installation of 4.11 to ad0s3 managed to wipe out my existing disklabel for 7.0 on ad0s4. I now need to recover the disklabel to get my system to boot! There were three labels - ad0s4a: UFS, exact size unknown. Is it possible to infer this from the UFS partition size? I can mount this already, as I simply wrote an 'a' label of maximum size to the disklabel - ad0s4b:
