sash position problem
Hi, I''ve written a small app implementing SplitterWindow and have a problem with specifying the sash position on Windows. At the moment, I call split_vertically and pass it a positive integer for position. This works as expected on FreeBSD and Linux (Ubuntu and Debian), but seems to have no effect on Windows. Is there something particular I need to be doing to get this to work on

Process hanging on 6.0-STABLE
Hi, I work for a small company that makes radar systems for research organisations and we use FreeBSD on the PCs for data acquisition and processing. We have recently shifted to FreeBSD6/amd64 and one machine in particular is exhibiting a strange problem. The acquisition process is a Tcl interpreter with a largish chunk of C code which talks to the hardware (via RS485 and a custom PCI card). Once the system is set up it streams data back via the PCI card and runs it through va...

Heads up regarding using nfs with ocfs2
...s being caused by a deadlock triggered during the READDIRPLUS RPC call available in NFS3. The bugzilla has the kernel stack of the deadlocked process. Disabling READDIRPLUS in the NFS client stopped the deadlocks. The user was then able to successfully run his regression on a mixture of Linux 2.6, FreeBSD6 and FreeBSD7 NFS clients. Now, even though the user originally reported that the problem did not reproduce with Linux NFS clients, it was probably only so because the Linux NFS client appears to be more judicious in its use of that RPC call than FreeBSD. For e.g., it does not use it when accessing...

Segmentation Fault in more_like_this.rb
I''ve been seeing some core dumps coming from ferret_server: acts_as_ferret/lib/more_like_this.rb:170: [BUG] Segmentation fault ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13) [i386-freebsd6] I''m running the latest build of ferret (0.11.4-rc5). Line 170 in more_like_this.rb is: freq = reader.doc_freq(field_name, word) which is calling into the ferret C code (if I''m reading this correctly). Is there anything I can do to get you more information, or help track...

puppet exit codes and svn pre-commit hook
Hi everyone, I''m using a svn pre-commit hook to check manifests for syntax errors. I''ve recently upgraded puppet from 0.22.4 to 0.23.2 and the hook stopped working. I use the following command to parse .pp files: /usr/local/bin/puppet --confdir=/tmp --vardir=/tmp --parseonly --ignoreimport /tmp/$$.pp Now, I make a decision based on the exit code. If 0 then commit, else exit

freebsd vpn server behind nat dsl router
Hello Greg, I am writing you, because I saw your responses to a couple of messages on the freebsd-security mailing list related to freebsd vpn and nat. My situations is rather unique, and I am needing an expert's eyes to glance at it and confirm whether it is doable or not. I have a simple diagram that illustrates what I am trying to do, and it is located here (about 40k):

packet loss on ixgbe using vlans and ipv6
Hi, I have a Dell T710 with 4 X 10G ethernet interfaces (2 X Dual port Intel 82599 cards). It is running FreeBSD RELENG_8 last updated on July 13. What I see is packet loss (0 - 40%) on IPv6 packets in vlans, when the machine is not the originator of the packets. Let me try to describe a little more. If a neigbouring machine ping6 it, there will be packet loss. If it act as a router for ipv6,
