FreeBSD5 make world fails
Hi!
I've installed FreeBSD5 (i386). I've synced src tree via cvsup
(RELENG_5) and tried to build world.
But in the process I got the following error:

Pre-release 1.3.0pre4 (hopefully the last)
Hi all,
I have tagged 1.3.0pre4 in git and provided a tarball here:
http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/flac/beta/flac-1.3.0pre4.tar.xz
I have built and tested the git tree on:
linux-x86_64
openbsd5-i386
freebsd5-i386
as well as successfully cross compiling from Linux to 32 and 64 bit
MinGW.
As far as I am concerned, the only thing left to do for this release
is to update the version numbers and dates through out.
I will still accept bug fixes for this release, but I am no longer
accepting feature update...

file locking/sharing
Hi,
I m using Samba 3.0.4. The problem is the if user1 created his file in
the Public directory, the new file has the user name of user1 with
permission 770 on the new file.
User2 can read and write to the file as well, but it doesn't change the
ownership of the new file. After the new file has been modified by
user2, the new file's ownership still displayed as user1.
The second

Seeking documentation for SAMBA3+LDAP but NOT PDC
Hi there,
I would like to build a _simple_ server for sharing files, using Samba3.
I use FreeBSD5, the machine works well with ldap, nss_switch, pam_ldap.
Users can login (ssh) using the ldap account : perfect.
Now i want them to access some file/shares using SMB with Samba3, using
their LDAP account.
BUT : **I don't want to turn this simple server into a PDC machine**
This would be overk...

Uninstalling RUBYGEMS
Hi,
does anyone know how to uninstall rubygem?
I installed and it had the notorious hanging problem that no one seems
to have an answer to.
So I am going to attempt to install Rails without gems.
Could someone point me in the right direction if you would not answer
me? =)
Regards,
Edmund

More verbose logging of POP transactions?
Hi all -
I'm brand new to dovecot (0.99.14 on freebsd 5) and am just
playing with it a bit. POP works just fine, but the only thing that shows
up in my logs is this:
Sep 7 11:46:25 freebsd5 pop3-login: Login: philip [10.28.61.200]
Thought maybe syslog was quietly eating things, but told dovecot to use
it's own log file and it didn't improve.
Is there a way to turn on more detailed logging about what the user did?
Along the lines of what uw-imap's pop gives you in terms...

dropped. Policies for INPUT, FORWARD, OUTPUT are all "ACCEPT", and I
grepped for all REJECT and DROP rules in iptables -nvL, their counters

Setup:

packet loss on ixgbe using vlans and ipv6
Hi,
I have a Dell T710 with 4 X 10G ethernet interfaces (2 X Dual port Intel
82599 cards). It is running FreeBSD RELENG_8 last updated on July 13.
What I see is packet loss (0 - 40%) on IPv6 packets in vlans, when the
machine is not the originator of the packets.
Let me try to describe a little more. If a neigbouring machine ping6 it,
there will be packet loss. If it act as a router for ipv6,
