Freeamp output plug-in
Hello: I don't usually post requests like this to mailing lists, but I've just about run out of other options. The vorbis.org and vorbis.com sites both make mention of a beta vorbis output plug-in for freeamp, but I'm blowed if I can find it anywhere. It's definitely not in the vorbis.com download section (unless it's been placed their within the last 24 hours or so), and I've seen no mention of it on freeamp.org either. I E-mailed the vorbis.com folks about it, but haven't yet hea...

format of http stream?
I am streaming ogg via inetd. Basically, I am outputing like: oggenc -Q -b 1 -o - /some/wave/file.wav This works fine with ogg123 (other than that I want the bit rate to be lower than 55-100 range that it is doing). I am using: Ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.0rc2 OggEnc v0.8 (libvorbis rc2) But, FreeAmp for Windows slowly buffered up to 100% then said "Skipped Corrupted File". And WinAmp says can't connect. (I know it can connect -- see below.) (This WinAMP and FreeAMP for Windows downloaded today.) When I use ogg123 on my NetBSD box, it sends these headers to my ogg streamer: GE...

...le). Now, this works beautifully if I play the stream with ogg123, but if I try to play it using xmms, it just buffers the stream over and over again (ie, it says Pre-Buffering 8KB... 16KB ... 24KB ... 32KB, shows the title quickly and then does that again and again...). If I try and play it with Freeamp, it says "Buffering up ... 20% ... 50% ... 100%" and then "Skipped corrupted file", and stops. No sound from either of the two programs. Now, the funny bit is that both XMMS and Freeamp work perfectly with the Ogg streams that the BBC have put up. Any ideas? I'm running it...

Icecast and rtp
I have managed to get icecast streaming to freeamp on another computer, using http, but does icecast support rtp streaming of mp3 files? Is there any online documentation about icecast streaming using rtp? Also, is there any freeamp manual documentation online? Finding this documentation is really difficult!! Thanks Louisa --- >8 ---- List ar...

Hello
Hi, I am interested in helping out with the project. What tasks are on the TODO list? I am one of the lead developers of the FreeAmp (www.freeamp.org) project so obviously I will create a decoder plugin for our player but I would also like to help out with the Vorbis CODEC itself. elrod --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/

UTF-8 to ISO 8859-1 converter
I've got a bug pending for FreeAmp right now where the vorbis metadata plugin does not handle international characters right. The comments that are returned from vorbis_comment_query() are in UTF-8, but FreeAmp is ISO 8859-1. I've been looking for a UTF-8 --> ISO 8859-1 converter that is available for inclusion in a GPL/LGPL...

Vorbis stream up now
Greetings: If you're using the latest XMMS (CVS preferably), FreeAmp, Sonique (?), or ogg123 (maybe), please check out this URL for a Vorbis playlist stream: http://64.108.112.34:8000/shouter.ogg The playlist is lengthy, and I've set it to repeat three times, so it will be on-line for a while. Please let me know how well or badly the stream was rece...

Library issues (BOUNCE vorbis-dev@xiph.org: Non-member submission from [rob@emusic.com]) (fwd)
...to upgrade xiph.org to MailMan or the like. I'm officially sick to death of majordomo. (Or, if you want to code all the features I want in majordomo, that's fine too ;-) I'm a little bit out of time, see.... ------- Forwarded Message Sender: robert@emusic.com I just brought the FreeAmp codebase up to speed with the latest Vorbis source. In doing so, I've come up with the following questions: 1) There is libvorbis.a and vorbisfile.a. Why is vorbisfile.a not libvorbisfile.a? This presents problems when FreeAmp attemps to see if the vorbis libs are installed on the target mac...

icecast 2.0 semi-permanent test stream
...the beta4 vorbis plugin (cvs if you can get it) AND (and this is extremely important) the CVS version of the mpg123 input plugin. Symptoms of not upgrading your mpg123 plugin include constant rebuffering. If you report this error without upgrading the mpg123 plugin, I will probably slap you :) freeamp - vakor has been working with the freeamp guys. You'll need whatever the latest version is, possibly the latest beta version. afaik, there are no known issues with freeamp streaming. winamp - the beta4 plugin includes streaming, but it's horribly bad, just like ogg123. missing def file in vorbis win32 build stuff
I was just trying to build the shared lib stuff and include it into RC4 of FreeAmp 2.1 today, but I found that the .def file for the vorbis build stuff is missing and therefore no .lib file is generated. Is there a reason for that, or is it just an omission? In any case, I will hold off on the latest and greatest vorbis stuff in FreeAmp until next week.... --ruaok Freez...

Launching OGG streams
...nce it's not MP3 specific. However, a number of players do not respect/understand PLS files. It also means that whatever player you choose to play shoutcast-style MP3 streams launched with PLS files will have to be used to play OGG streams. Example: Say you run linux and have both ogg123 and freeamp. Now, you might prefer to play vorbis streams with ogg123, but if you want to be able to play MP3 streams with freeamp, then you'll have to associate PLS with freeamp and launch freeamp for both OGGs and MP3s. M3U has the kind of player support we would like - pretty much any MP3 player under...

OGG not working in Windows?
I ripped (CDDA2WAV) and encoded (OGGENC) OGG files on my Linux box using GRIP. The OGG files play fine in my XMMS on my Linux box. These are all from brand new lib (rc2) compiles. But no matter what I try, FreeAmp or Winamp (w/ plugin), they do nothing on my Windows boxes. Anyone? Problems streaming high bitrate over a LAN
I am trying to stream various 320kbps MP3s across my 10Mbps LAN. Either locally or across the network, freeamp and xmms prefetch a chunk, then play it, then fetch another chunk etc. No continuous streaming. shout gets a lot of !s between its "."s when sending the file to icecast.
