[PATCH nbdkit] common/include/tvdiff.h: Add formal specification.
This commit adds a formal specification of tvdiff_usec and a partial specification of subtract_timeval. These may be proved using Frama-C. The existing functions ignored overflow, but it is possible to call the functions with parameters that will cause overflow. So to create a formal specification I had to modify the functions to signal overflow. Luckily GCC and Clang have convenient __builtin*s which make this easy, but Frama-C...

Question about Formal Verification
I'd just like to thank everyone who replied on this; the suggestions and resources are very helpful! ~Scott On Tue, Feb 9, 2016 at 8:38 PM, Andrew Santosa <santosa_1999 at yahoo.com> wrote: > LLBMC http://llbmc.org uses bounded model checking technique to find > errors in LLVM IR. > Model checking is essentially search, and since LLBMC is bounded, the > search for errors

Again about encoding speed of different compiles
I downloaded current version of FLAC sources and compiled it with: * GCC 4.8.1 (MSYS from http://xhmikosr.1f0.de/tools/) * Intel C++ Composer XE 2013 update 5 * MSVS 2010 SP1 * MSVS 2012 update 3 (SSSE3 and SSE4.1 code was disabled for all compilers) Stereo 24-bit WAV file was encoded with -8 preset. Encoding time, in seconds: GCC 32-bit: 209 ICC 32-bit: 130 VS10 32-bit: 116 VS12 32-bit: 114

unwanted as.integer
> a <- sqlQuery(irrdb, "select count(field) from mytable where field = 1") > print(a) count(field) 1 8 > paste(a) [1] "as.integer(8)" Why the as.integer() representation? I later pass the result into this write.html.table(), and what I get is rows of as.integer()... when all I want is the integer itself. as.integer(31) as.integer(21)
