Anyone using SCO Lyrix 6? (fwd)
...d this into the lp subsystem with the command
lpadmin -psmbprinter -v/dev/null -i/opt/lib/samba/smbprint
where smbprint is the renamed version of smbprint.sysv.
When I use lp -dsmbprinter test.txt, test.txt prints OK at the printer
connected to my Win95 client, but I am also using SCO Lyrix 6, SCO Foxbase
2.1.1 and SCO Professional. I'm having problems to set up these apps to
use smbprinter. For SCO Lyrix 6, there is a utility /usr/lib/wp6/pconfig
for configuring printers, but I have tried this utility without any
success-Lyrix still prints onto my Unix printer.
As we have lots of printing jobs...

RODBC
...R-fans,
My database access package RODBC is now available on CRAN.
For those who have never used it, odbc is a database and
platform independant API which provides an SQL interface
to a large number of database engines. The databases supported
include not only SQL based RDBMS but also CSV files, foxbase,
dBase, MSExcel etc.
ODBC has been promoted mainly by Microsoft and this is where the
driver support is most widespread and solid. Unix support is
available (free) for some of the more common database engines.
To my knowledge RODBC works with oracle, MSAccess, Sybase,
DB2 and SQLServer on MSWind...

No subject
...ings wrong thus such a configuration should be quite common, I
think - and if there was a problem with "include" and "%G" someone else
should already have realized it...
thank you
