I am trying to fit the chi-squared distribution to a set of data using the fitdistr function found in the MASS4 library, the data set is called ONES3, I have loaded it using the command ONES3<-read.table("ONES3.pdf",header=TRUE,na="NA") I print out the dataset ONES3 to the screen to make sure it has loaded Then I try to fit this data using the command

Fitting Data to a Noncentral Chi-Squared Distribution using MLE
Hi, I have written out the log-likelihood function to fit some data I have (called ONES20) to the non-central chi-squared distribution. >library(stats4) >ll<-function(lambda,k){x<-ONES20; 25573*0.5*lambda-25573*log(2)-sum(-x/2)-log((x/lambda)^(0.25*k-0.5))-log(besselI(sqrt(lambda*x),0.5*k-1,expon.scaled=FALSE))} > est<-mle(minuslog=ll,start=list(lambda=0.05,k=0.006))

MLE Function
I am just trying to teach myself how to use the mle function in R because it is much better than what is provided in MATLAB. I am following tutorial material from the internet, however, it gives the following errors, does anybody know what is happening to cause such errors, or does anybody know any better tutorial material on this particular subject. >

xiph flac git build fails out of the box
Not sure where bug reports are going yet. I'd love to try to cross-compile with mingw, but git fails to build out of the box so far; these scripts work for most any other git tree I've used them on before. All that's done: ./autogen.sh ./configure --prefix=/home/avuton/src/mpd-release-utils/build-dir --host=i586-mingw32msvc - -build=x86_64-linux-gnu --target=i586-mingw32msvc

[flac-git] Install fails with --disable-doxygen-docs
Latest git [3b41451197f2cc7afb13753caaccbadaa74eca32] cross compiles perfect without patches (this is the first time I've seen this with any flac tree). Install fails with --disable-doxygen-docs; it's probably easy to fix, but here's the problem: make[5]: Entering directory `/home/avuton/src/mpd-release-utils/src/flac.git/doc/html/images/hw' make[5]: Nothing to be done for

Can this be done with NUT? (ordered shutdown, revisited)
...repeated at localhost 0 upsmon secret master MONITOR realups at server 1 upsmon secret slave MINSUPPLIES=1 Clients connect to either the primary or secondary server as netclients as per their status (critical or not). The 0 above in the MONITOR line is to provide protection for this situation and fortunaely I want the secondary server to stay up until the bitter end anyway. If that wasnt the case and I wanted to shut down this server early then I would remove the second MONITOR line and have the usual 1 setting. In that case the above concerns apply. Is there any better way of arranging the configura...

deprecated function question
Greets all, Is there a list of functions that have been removed from flac? I am trying to compile xmcd, which is admittedly pretty old code, and it's not finding: FLAC__stream_encoder_set_write_callback FLAC__stream_encoder_set_seek_callback FLAC__stream_encoder_set_client_data FLAC__stream_encoder_init grepping through the flac headers these aren't there so I'm assuming they've

There is "net changetrustpw" to do this. When you domain-join the machine the machine password is managed by winbind, so you don't need to this.

Flac live audio stream
Hi, I am looking for a way to stream live audio using the FLAC audio format. After some analysis myself I found various lossy alternatives, also in higher levels of kbps (like MP3 320 kbps). But I do want to challenge and be sure whether FLAC might be a possibility. So I am specifically looking for an encoder and server solution supporting live streaming FLAC audio. Do you have a
