Samba User Nightmare
Hey, I need help! (I'm kinda new to this.), This past weekend I switched over our server at work from a MS NT 4.0 server to a Red Hat Linux version 9 server. I had to set up several network shares via Samba. For testing purposes I set up a former employee's account on the new server. This account would enable me to communicate with the old server and the new to copy over files. All the other usernames changed from first name last initial to first initial last name, something our corporate office wanted. The former employees account w...

New branch names
I have changed the branch names around to better match current reality. The branches are now: syslinux-4.xx -- 4.xx maintenance branch (former master) syslinux-5.xx -- 5.xx maintenance branch (former elflink) master -- development branch (6.xx, former firmware) Hopefully this will help avoid further confusion. -hpa

[LLVMdev] Removing SimpleRewriter (formerly SimpleSpiller)
Hi all, Is anyone still using SimpleRewriter (formerly known as SimpleSpiller)? A quick check with the test suite suggests that it's badly broken. If it's not being used I'd like to remove it as part of my tidy-up of the register allocator. - Lang.

Init nnetTs (or nnet?) with a former Neural Net
I am new to R and use nnetTs - calls. If a time series of let's say 80000 Datapoints and did call nnetTs I want make a new net for the old ponts plus the next 1000 points (81000 datapoints total) what would again cost much calculation time. So I want to pre-init the new net with the former wonnen net to reduce the necessary iteration numbers. Is thee a possibility to do that and how? i.e.: x=ts(scan("C:/mydata1.csv")) mod.nnet<-nnetTs(x,m=2,size=8) x=ts(scan("C:/mydata2.csv")) mod.nnetnew<-nnetTs(x,m=2,size=8,control=list(init=mod.nnet)) ??? Thanks for a...

Precision for a former question*
...the global environnement) directly in my function by using ->>. Consequently, I just want to be sure that I will note have false results , and that i won't have problems I can't deal with (such as allocation memory). So , is it 1) or 2) ? Thank you Nicolas ---------------------- * Former question : I'd like to know if I can modify a constant value with a function. Example : a=4 f1<-function() {a=3} Of course, after the function f1() is executed , the value of a is always 4. I'd like the value returned is 3, like it is possible in C by doing *a=3 [[alternative HTML...

Trouble (?) reformatting flash drive to include former U3 partition
...bytes difference (until it gets allocated into the 8,022,089,728 bytes of the partition) - I'm thinking this is a standard formatting loss. My 4GB flash drive has 4,096,189,440 bytes on it, and twice that would be 8,192,378,880, which is a difference of 170,289,152 bytes, or about 162+MB. The former "CD" partition (which is invisible, so far) only had 8,645,202 bytes used on it, which leaves a huge amount of room to spare of inaccessible empty space. What am I missing? Or is that just the way it is? (The package only says "Some capacity is not available for data storage.&quot...

[LLVMdev] Removing SimpleRewriter (formerly SimpleSpiller)
The new spilling framework inserts spill code in-place (during register allocation) rather than deferring it using VirtRegMap/VirtRegRewriter. The goal is to enable techniques like iterative splitting to be implemented. It should also be a bit tidier as it keeps more state in the MachineFunction, rather than in book-keeping structures like VirtRegMap. The work is in the very early stages though.
