I am trying to setup a local printer that I have working in centos4.4 on centos 5, this is a server install no X. I was able to get the cups webpage up and it sees the printer I configured it up but when I try to print to it i get the following error: "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed", I've searched and searched but can't find anything that helps. I would like to try to install it outside of cups but it appears they only have a GUI to add a printer. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. I shut down, hooked it up to the parallel port, rebooted, and hwbrowser recognizes it on /dev/lp0, so I ran through setting it up as a queue with printconf-gui. However, printing the test page fails because the renderer "lz11.foomatic" is not found (details below for anyone who wants to read that far). I have searched around the samba documentation, including the smb.conf man page, and have found nothing regarding the cups printing system except change printcap to cups.
