password change problem and no logon servers available
...ly we are experiencing the following problems:
1. changing the passwords takes longer than 30 seconds <- That's bad
because we are using a gigabit ethernet network!
2. sometimes windows tells us that the user can't change their passwords at
the current point of time
3. sometimes windows foces the users to change their passwords (we never
told samba to do it!)
4. sometimes windows tells us that there are no logon server available!
Are there any known bugs regarding to these problems? Do you need further
information to investigate this problem?

Strange Behavior with Read Only files 3.0.20b
I haven't had a chance to look at the list very carefully for the past few
weeks, so I apologize in advance if I'm asking a question that has recently
been discussed. I seem to recall there has been some discussion about a similar
situation to the one I am in.
My situation is that I am having an issue with READ ONLY files -- and seeing
very different behavior with Samba 3.0.20b

force user statement ignored, BUG in 2.2.8?
...figured as a PDC (no probs with that). I inserted a small
whoami in the script to print out the user. If I start it from a Win9x the
user is always root. If it is a NT/2000/XP Client the calling user is the
login of the client, "force user" is ignored. After RTFM this is not normal,
"foce user" overrides all. Looks like a bug.
What can I do? suid doesn't work and sudo is no option (because I can not
put every client user in the sudoers file). All worked fine, when I had
security=share.
You may want a look on a part of my smb.conf:

Help with lme and correlated residuals
Dear R - Users
I have some problems fitting a linear mixed effects model using the lme function (nlme library). A sample data is as shown at the bottom of this mail. I fit my linear mixed model
using the following R code:
bmr <-lme (outcome~ -1 + as.factor(endpoint)+ as.factor(endpoint):trt, data=datt,
random=~-1 + as.factor(endpoint) + as.factor(endpoint):trt|as.factor(Trial),

Bug in mkfs.btrfs?!
...isk/by-id/ata-INTEL_SSDSA2M160G2GC_CVPO939201JX160AGN-par",
0x7fffa30b3cf0) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
The problem is there is something missing at the end of the link, should be
something like "-part1", "-part2" etc.
I''ll try the patch with the --foce option.
Regards,
Felix
