Fedora Core 16 + Xen
Hey M A,
I was quite excited to see that with Fedora Core 16 I can just do:
''yum install xen'' and the hypervisor is installed.
Sadly the grub is not updated so nothing gets loaded. Should I report
bugs against this on bugzilla.redhat.com or just send them to your personally?
libvirt seems to have forgotten about Xen too.. but that is a different issue.
I played with running

xenoprof patch for oprofile-0.9.7
I am rebasing Fedora rawhide oprofile package to oprofile-0.9.7. The xenoprof patches on http://xenoprof.sourceforge.net/#download look a bit dated. The newest version is for oprofile-0.9.5.
I massaged the patch oprofile-0.9.5-xen.patch to apply to oprofile-.0.9.7. Attached is that updated patch. Does this look reasonable? Is there a desire to get this into upstream oprofile? Or should the

Automount Windows home directory
Hi,
Is there a way to connect to the Windows user home directory share from a Samba client automatically?
At the moment I can manually connect to the share using "mount -t smb" using the usual hidden/protected credentials file. Obviously this needs editing every time my domain password changes (as enforced by policy).
However, since getting the workstation to authenticate me from the

Making winbindd and pam_mount play nice together
Did you join the box to the domain
Did you set security to be domain and passwword to encrypted?
Is the AD server in mixed mode?
Are you configuring the "right" pam module for the login as per the FAQ?
Is wbinfo returning the users and groups?

mapping home dir
Hi
I am running a RH9 box in a w2k domain. I have installed
winbind on the RH9 box joined it to the domain
successfully. Domain users can login with their accounts.
The problem is when they login they get a message stating
that their home dir doesnt excists. How can i map their
home dir that is on a w2k member server and how can i
create their home dir on the RH9 box when the domain users
login?

Use Samba as drop-in replacement for NFS
Hi,
Is it possible to use Samba as a drop-in replacement for NFS, namely,
allowing a system-wide anonymous mount which authenticates access to
files based simply on the unix ids of the user accessing the files and
the file permissions are equivalent to what is present in the
underlying file system that is exported.
Thanks,
Frood

Xenoprof (0.9.5) in PVOPS
Hi All.
I''m trying to use xenoprof in my Xeon machine with PVOPS (3.1.0 kernel) &
xen 4.1.1.
In the past, I had failed to use the xenoprof in this environment. (1 year
ago)
While baremetal booting shows the counter object in /dev/oprofile/0 (or
1,2,3) ,
booting with xen fails to create those objects.
Of course, opcontrol command doesn''t work. It only prints

Trouble mounting a windows share from Linux

how to connect to a windows home directory on a Win2000 server. Here is the
scenario:
W2K server with home directories for each user:
Each user has modify permissions to their share
Administrator has full control
First off, I need to somehow
