script calls them like that :

differences between relative_url using Rails with Prototype or JQuery
My web app is deployed with Passenger in a sub-uri, http://www.mydomain.com/vacademy/
and I am displaying a player in a page
the swf is located in ../public/dist/flowplayer-3.1.5.swf
Using Prototype library I wrote a script :
<script>
$f("player", "./dist/flowplayer-3.1.5.swf", {
....
and I don''t have any problem to get the player installed from
http://www.mydomain.com/vacademy/dist/flowplayer-3.1.5.swf
but when using jQue...

streaming theora in flash
Hi,
I managed to get my own FLV videos working over the web:
http://certik.github.com/record/
it plays in the opensource flash player (flowplayer), but I have to
convert theora to FLV (you can use the script in the package above).
My question is, does anyone know if it's possible to get theora itself
working? I know firefox3.5 will be able to do it, but I am afraid that
will be the only browser, so I think flash will stay as the only

AstriCon videos: a question of method
...h view? where do people stop?)
- reasonably easy interaction (good upload tools, good UI)
- good viewing experience from North America, Europe, Asia
Before anyone suggests it, I'm not interested in Torrent-based
distribution for various political reasons. I've started to look at
Flowplayer, which is appealing due to it's OSS nature and
customization capability, but it leaves us holding the bandwidth bill
(which may not be horrible, but it's a concern.)
What are your experiences? I can't say we'll end up actually using
what you might think is best, but I'...

[OT] Playing mp4's on centos httpd
Sorry for the off topic, but hoping someone here can point me in a
direction and end my endless googling... I have some mp4 training videos
that our users need to be able to download or stream directly to their
browser.
I have the h.264 module loaded on httpd on centos (using
http://swimminginthought.com/streaming-mp4-video-webserver-solved/#).
So I think I have most of the infrastructure in

[Bug 15431] New: [NSFW] pichunter streams/tv do not work
...ne
automatically.
The following URL is not worse than what's on TV commercials or on Hollywood
(naked women showering, some nipples; the fourth (last) part has some minor
frontal nudity though) and should work for testing things:
http://tv.pichunter.com/view.php?id=33748
They seem to be using flowplayer (see #11164), but the demo at
http://flowplayer.org works fine (both video and audio) while the one at
pichunter.com (http://tv.pichunter.com/FlowPlayerWhite2.swf) does not.

<video src="*.ogg">
When I tried to view Basil's video streams yesterday, it
worked with Firefox 3.5.x on both Linux and Windows,
but failed with Chrome 3.0 on Windows XP.?
I get opposite results with
http://www.citizenofplanetearth.org/citizen.ogg
The only browser I've tried that plays that video is
Chrome 3.0 on Windows XP.
The <video> tag I'm using is about as simple as can be.

Is there maybe a pcre extension or something designed to look at vorbis
tags that could potentially be used to verify the file is ogg vorbis?
After upload I do transcode (from ogg to mp3 and mp3 to ogg so that
html5 audio with flowplayer fallback works) by cron job that pulls new
audio vouchers out of database, and I could (and currently do) check
there, but all record submissions require at least one voucher and I
would rather catch non ogg vorbis ogg files on submission before the web
app creates the record in the first pla...

Stream videos and secure the files
I am currently writing an app and would like to stream videos through
a jwplayer or flowplayer. The video files are stored in a folder out
of public. So as first option I guess send_data should work, but I
don''t know how to put together send_data and the player.
Or if there is any other option to deny the direct url input access to
those files via a handler and put the files on p...

Display note when MouseOver Input form
I''m using Rails 3, Formtastic an Jquery. I would like to display a
"floating" note when an input field gets focus.
A good example is when trying to submit a story on digg when you are
not logged in. What is the best way to do this?
