Usin ISO Linux & Memdisk to create a Viritual Floppydrive that Linux & Windows can load driver disk from.
With windows, if your "virtual" floppy is drive B:, then windows
will treat it specially. It will basically copy the contents into
memory from real mode using int13h, knowing that it will not be
able to access the device after it switches to protected mode.
I asked a few days ago about support for making a memdisk image
behave as drive B:, but got no answer. :-(

nopassany parameter causing trouble
...on harddisks and
removable disks (as the DOS kernel enumerates them) or using the
NOPASSANY parameter for MEMDISK.
Different output:
* ISO9660 found: drive E0 with address 0800h (omitting nopassany)
* Nothing found: drive 70 with address 0000h (nopassany specified)
My expectation was that only floppydrives and USB/harddisk units would
be hidden. (for that matter I'd prefer booting from USB FAT32 yet hide
USB drive but not harddisk, but can't have it all).
Original Boot order:
BIOS -> CD -> Isolinux 4.04 -> Memdisk 4.04 -> FLOPPY.IMG
Alternative with ISO in RAM:
BIOS -> CD -...

Thanks!
I'd like to thank as an end-user all the people who have contributed to such
a great program as ISOLINUX is.
For the FreeDOS operating system (MS-DOS open source clone , freedos.org)
we've been putting togehter a 55MB distribution on cdrom, and your ISOLINUX
project proves it's very easy to add it to existing cdrom's to make them
(multi)bootable.
Thanks to both your effors

Testing Syslinux on Mazza PT-5VMD
Hi All,
I was testing syslinux floppy on a Mazza MotherBoard, his chipset is VIA
MVP3 (VT82C598MVP, VT82C586B), and Winbond W83877F/TF.
After reading the floppy, I see 'boot failed', I have to ide disk in the
system, only flash device.
I used the -s option to build the floppy.
Does Somebody know if the chipset is supported? I tested the floppy on
toshiba laptop and it works very fine.

MEMDISK bug in Syslinux 3.10
MEMDISK included in the freshly released Syslinux v3.10 is unfortunately
broken. v3.09 works properly.
Scenario:
Isolinux --> MEMDISK --> FDBOOT.IMG (FreeDOS 360KB diskette image).
Then try to access drive B: , which normally is your first diskette
drive with driveletter A:.
However, in this case MEMDISK occupies A:, and real diskdrive becomes B:
Bug:
when accessing B:, you're asked
