...work but I'm running into some troubles. I want from a Linux box to display one of those popups, I can get a few command to work fine which is where my issue is: The windows machine I'm trying to send it to is 10.10.10.168 (or ENGS1004 NetBIOS name). Someone here posted about this problem and someone else here suggested using system-config-display --reconfig as I recall, to generate a new file. Not a good idea to log in as root! again... cross compiling

OK, i ran configure with -C one time without cross compiler env set, to obtain the variables another time with -C to use the config.cache . I could not find anything related to the check whether size_t is signed. I found a variable which i set that way:

They''re killing me (the spammers)
Yes, last night it was 4Mbps the rate of incoming mails. I was wondering if I apply HTB to the following scheme: router -> gw-iface -> MX-server If HTB (new verb) the interface that communicates with MX, say, 2mbit, what will occur to the Input queue of gw-router-iface? Will I still get the link full for 4mbit or will it get lower to 2mbit too, as the inner interface? Appreciate

...enience function wrapped inside a call to `add_term()` and similar. This would allow people who find use for the exception to continue using things that way. Alternatively, maybe we could find a way of configuring this behaviour. I certainly see the benefit in some situations of being able to just fling data at an indexer and not worry over-much about long terms, which are mostly flotsam anyway in a lot of applications. Anyone else have any thoughts? Now is a good time to think about things like this. (I'm not a fan of silent truncation; it's bitten me on too many other EIS in the past....

Hrm, :after on auto_complete_field helper ?
Okay, urm, here is the problem :) I have an auto_complete field that gets back a set of three values, so, ideally, I thought I would put the :after tag on the auto_complete_field, use a little custom javascript function that splits it up and flings it into the other values, except, call me stupid, but, auto_complete_field doesn''t have an :after tag ? At least, I can''t see it in the API .. So, any idea''s on how todo this ? I am open to suggestions ;) Regards and Thanks Stef

cross compiling dovecot
I have the problem that configure can't run the binaries, due to crosscompiling. How can you solve these issues with ./configure? checking whether size_t is signed... configure: error: cannot run test program while cross compiling See `config.log' for more details. I configure with a mipsel cross compiler. Cheers Martin

system-display-config doesn't run right - Jay Leafey
...isplay --reconfig'. It may be >that your current xorg.conf has something not parse-able in it, the >--reconfig switch starts from scratch. Worth a try, anyway. >Remember, paranoia is a good thing, make a copy of your xorg.conf >first! Jay: Thank you for that! I had a very brief fling with FC6 and had terrible problems with xorg.conf, which I tried to fix with system- config-display I will try to remember the --reconfig if I run into that again. Capturing Validation Errors from Nested Model Creation..
...l ;) but, I will explain. Currently I have an object (Booking) which, when its created, will also have new contacts created everytime with it (for arguements sake). So, I can wrap these both in a transaction, however, if any one of the contacts fails the validation of the contact model, it will fling up a validation error. So, what is the best way to capture this error and return it to the page for display ? I thought of trying Booking.transaction do @allerrors = [] contact = Contact.new(:first_name => params["contact"]["first_name"]) if n...

syslinux/isolinux capabilities
I'm wondering if it's possible to use isolinux on a bootable CDR to boot an ISO9660 disk image off of the CDR's filesystem. I'm trying to make a multi-boot CD which is capable of booting both floppy images and smaller ISO9660 images (such as the debian netinst or DSL - damnsmall linux), and I am wondering if isolinux is capable of doing this (or something similar to this -

CentOS vs RedHat packages
Hello Once Again: Another learning experience question - it is my understanding that CentOS essentially IS RedHat but with any commercial connection removed. That being said, is there any difference in the included, or quality of packages between the two distros? I've got some basic issues with a critical server I'm about to set up, and if I cannot get beyond said issues, I may opt

...us trolls out there that will stay just below the threshold of actual harrassment (enforceable rules need to be spelt out clearly, which means that these trolls will stay below that threshold by a hair's breadth). There are people with weak arguments who will abuse anti-harrassment rules to fling accusations; they never get credibility, but they successfully sidetracked a technical discussion into a behavioural one. Don't forbid things. That's just going to give people ideas. Instead, encourage things. And give those who feel harrassed or threatened a mail address to turn to. Do...

XCP: Insecure Distro ?
Hello mailing list! I have been working with XCP a little bit, and I have the impression that this distro is insecure. First, it does not look like update repositories are enabled inside /etc/yum.repos.d, although I''m from an apt background so I may be misinterpreting that. Where will my security updates come from? Next, it appears that the root password hash is directly stored inside

Firewall piercing - The Specified network name is no longer available.
Hi all. I'm trying to set up one of my Unix machines at home so I can access my stuff there via SMB from the Internet at large (read: from Windows-using clients'). I'm behind two NATting devices-- the lame-p Prestige DSL modem provided by Sprint DSL (a.k.a. Earthlink?) and a more typical home DSL/cable gateway device. I've poked holes in BOTH of these devices on ports 137, 138,
