[LLVMdev] RFC: Are we ready to completely move away from the optionality of a DataLayout?
I've just wasted a day chasing my tail because of subtleties introduced to handle the optionality of the DataLayout. I would like to never do this again. =] We now have this attached to the Module with just a flimsy faked-up pass to keep APIs consistent. So, is there any problem with beginning down the path of: 1) Synthesizing a "default" boring DataLayout for all modules that don't specify one. 2) Changing the APIs to make it clear that this can never be missing and is always available. 3) Star...

OT: Replacing Venerable NAS
...M, so even if your spindles aren?t fast enough to fill the gigabit pipe, data from cache can fill it. - L2ARC and ZIL upgrade options, which are intermediary caches between RAM and disk. Again, this helps you to keep that gigabit pipe full. - They?re serious server-grade machines, not borderline flimsy boxes competing largely on price. Built in and supported from Silicon Valley, not China. :) - iXsystems sponsors FreeNAS and FreeBSD (via PC-BSD) developers. Does your alternative choice of NAS provider sponsor open source developers? - Those latter two points mean you can actually call them an...

Polycom and NAT
Hi All, I have a Polycom 501 that is behind a NAT. When it registers to the Asterisk server it is using the IP address on the private network and not the public IP of the NAT address. Can someone tell me what I need to do so the phone registerers using an internet address rather than the remote network NAT address. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Hijacking threads
...;t realized what that meant. I've looked at my sent mail headers and found a References: header item. Hadn't seen that before. Is that what the list uses to tie threads together? I was naively thinking it was the subject that made it part of the thread, but always thought that was a flimsy method. D'oh! I shall not do that again. My sincere apologies.

Need a CONFIRMED working hardware sata raid10 card
Does anyone know of a card that actually works with CentOS 4 that supports Raid10? I don't think CentOS support software raid 10 from the installer. Sqlite3 busy and yet server has no load nor concurrency
Hi, Strange behavior here. On my dev machine code works, but on the production machine I get the dreaded: SQLite3::BusyException: database is locked INSERT INTO "comments" [...] What kind of bug could yield such behavior? It''s impossible the database times out, there are no concurrent requests coming in, and the db is only 150kB. Is there a possible race condition? Caching

Outlier detection in bimodal distribution
Hi, I was looking for a package that would help with outlier detection for bimodal distributions. I have tried 'outliers' and 'extremevalues' packages, but am not sure if they are ok for bimodal distribution. Any help would be highly appreciated! thanks, [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Fedora bugs and EOL [was Re: CentOS users: please try and provide feedback on Fedora] Boltron
...t like. > > Just wait and see how he will like the feedback he?s getting here ... I've fed a mixture of rambling bug reports, relatively good bug reports, and badly written patches to the SSSD developers. One of them was to scratch an itch that was perculiar to me, but I made a patch, a flimsy case, and had it accepted. A short while later somebody submitted another patch to resolve an issue with the patch I'd submitted, which always makes you feel good about your handiwork. Their general response to my queries and confusion has been to support me and encourage me to test their lat...

samba 3 / AD / krb5_cc_get_principal failed

But when I try to access a share on the samba box (Windows AD controller), I am asked for a password, Samba then logs [2004/09/06 11:49:28, 1] smbd/sesssetup.c:reply_spnego_kerberos(173) Failed to verify incoming ticket! winbindd sometimes logs [2004/09/06 11:42:55, 1]

Samba, Linux, and file locking
Many moons ago, Samba used to build perfectly on Linux. Ever since I upgraded from 2.2.3, though, I've had to hack the configure script to get it to build, because Samba's configure is utterly and unshakeably convinced that no file locking of any kind exists on Linux. Once so configured, it builds, tests and runs perfectly. Can anyone tell me why Samba started disbelieving in

Wireless Mic System
...using physical switches, preferrably requiring a screwdriver. All-analog packs survive alot longer than digital packs. All the fancy digital pushbutton systems are begging to fail, and actors/performers can't resist playing with them. Covers that snap shut over the pushbuttons; the overs are flimsy and the puttins get mashed right through the flimy shield. If sweat gets in, the microprocessor is done. Prefer units that have cheply replacable connectors, and hoard spares. We had one actor who constantly broke connectors because they'd pop apart before he'd run on stage and he couldn...
