Stepped deployment - T1 PRI passthru
Following the successful deployment of asterisk servers at several of our branch offices, in the near future, I'll likely be implmenting an asterisk server at our HQ. We currently have a T1 PRI terminated on a legacy PBX. I'll be doing a stepped deployment in which, via a dual T1 linecard, the asterisk server will initially pass all incoming/outgoing calls directly through to the PBX.

Check if a saved user''s name is admin
Hi all, I have a question about this method in my User model: # Returns true for the (saved) user called "admin" def is_the_administrator true if save and name == "admin" end The method returns true if the user''s name is admin. However, I only want to return true if the state of the object is "saved", so I call the save method first. I''m

Solaris ACLs - Files Becoming Read Only
Solaris ACLs - Files Becoming Read Only --------------------------------------- Problem: -------- Since we have upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003 from Microsoft Office 2000 we have had problems with files becoming Read Only. Background: ----------- We have read-only and write groups which have access to files. We control access using both the Samba configuration file and file system ACLs.

2 4-port T1 cards
Are there any known issues with putting 2 4-port T1 cards in a single box and having all ports and all channels in use at the same time? Planning on 4 of these boxes, dual AMD cpu MB from MSI, 512m, redhat 9, agp video, on board NICs, serial ata raid. Any input would be appreciated. -Joe

Solaris ACLs + Linux ACLS - Files Becoming Read Only
Samba 3.0.11 + acl (ext3) ------------------------- I have to second this, but actually we are seeing the same problem with Linux ACLS (ext3) and Office 97. Further investigation showed that although the acls seem to be inherited (eg the group has write access) the do not seem to be honoured with regard to the user. Let me give an example to clarify: 2 users: y,x belogn to group: mygroup

State of Xen in upstream Linux
Well, the mainline kernel just hit 2.6.27-rc1, so it's time for an update about what's new with Xen. I'm trying to aim this at both the user and developer audiences, so bear with me if I seem to be waffling about something irrelevant. 2.6.26 was mostly a bugfix update compared with 2.6.25, with a few small issues fixed up. Feature-wise, it supports 32-bit domU with the core devices

xvda vs lvm
Hi, I''m just wondering if there are any speed or stability differences between running a system directly of a LVM partition versus a xvd partition? Basicly: disk = [ ''phy:/dev/LVM/root,xvda,w'', ] vs disk= [ ''phy:LVM/root,hda1,w'',] Any tips? I tried searching the archives but I didn''t find anything. Kind regards, Tarjei

end-user mode for a moment (side-by-side tests)
Smack my curiosity, but I encoded some songs in Vorbis mode 2 and tried to be able to distinguish the difference between that and the uncompressed WAVs. (*smacks self*) but here's what I noted: It's actually kind of hard to tell the difference :) (and I consider myself to have a decent set of ears, though not anywhere near the best) I got my accuracy to about 90%, but I couldn't

Multiple Mountpoints Problem
Hello, I've searched far and wide on the net and the only thing I've come up with is that no one has ever had this problem. I'm running Icecast 1.3.12 and the latest liveice on a Slackware 8.1 box. The idea here is that I need to stream a live source in multiple bitrates. I am having a problem that is just about going to send me back to Shoutcast. I have set up two

SAS and R on multiple operating systems
Hi, This is not meant to be critical of R, but is intended as a possible source for improvements to R. SAS needs the competition. I am reasonably knowledgeable about R SAS-(all products including IML) SAS and R run on Windows(all flavors) UNIX(all flavors) Apple OSs Does R run on natively (no emulation)? We have quite a few users on these systems VAX-VMS Z-OS (mainframe) MVS VM/CMS(IBM)

[PATCH 0/4] enable migration of driver pages
From: Gioh Kim <gurugio at hanmail.net> Hello, This series try to enable migration of non-LRU pages, such as driver's page. My ARM-based platform occured severe fragmentation problem after long-term (several days) test. Sometimes even order-3 page allocation failed. It has memory size 512MB ~ 1024MB. 30% ~ 40% memory is consumed for graphic processing and 20~30 memory is reserved for
