SUSE 10.0 and MGE Ellipse
Greetings Arnaud and others,
I've been using NUT with Gentoo Linux for a couple of years now. I recently installed SUSE Linux 10.0 and I'm having difficulty getting it to recognize my UPS (MGE Ellipse).
I tried the MGE-PSP package, but the GUI crashes immediately on startup. I decided to get just NUT running correctly before worrying about that. I uninstalled MGE-PSP and am left wtih

"Communications lost" temporarily at every startup
Hello,
I'm using NUT with an MGE Ellipse USB, which I
understand to be rather slow to respond. Every time I
start the NUT services, I get the "Communications
lost" notifications at first, but then it starts to
work normally. I've increased polling frequencies in
upsmon.conf to the point that I get only one
"Communications lost" before it starts to work, but I
can't

I have SUSE 10.0 and an MGE Ellipse. I installed the NUT package from MGE.
1) The generated ups.conf pointed to a bad location: /dev//dev/input/event0
2) The hidups driver will not work with SUSE 10 out of the box. To make it work (which was academic because I prefer newhidups), I had to:
a) Customize the kernel to exclude
